So AA's labor cost per ASM wasn't higher than the competition? If you don't agree with that, most will claim that you're in a serious case of denial. It's been more than eight months since AA filed its Ch 11 petition, and very few people cling to the belief that AA's costs were in line with the others.
To be clear, AA's AMT hourly wages are at the bottom of the legacy industry, but despite that reality, AA's total labor costs were the highest in the industry. Probably has something to do with the low levels of outsourcing of maintenance (and ramp), along with somewhat low productivity levels of the pilots and flight attendants.
Different opinions are healthy, but labor costs of a corporation are a fact, not an opinion. Insisting that AA's bankruptcy has no legitimate basis is like claiming that the earth isn't round.
