First problem will be filed today.

Plenty more where that came from on the way.

I suggest an east pilot ask Seham why he was to busy to appear in Judge Wake's courtroom on Oct 7th. No matter, delay the inevitable, rescheduled for later in the month.

It really is amusing to see how uninformed you are compared to what you think.

Thats your opinion, some of us don't think its to radical,of course thats only mine and about 1000 other east pilots.

I hope none of the 1000 are Captains, with judgment like that I wouldn't trust them with the wheel barrow in my garden.

That's fine you keep your 1000 east pilots and be mad all day long. We will take our 1600 pilots and the other 2000 east pilots and we can move forward without you.

I am as realistic as they get.

AWA was growing
AWA had three successive quarters of profit
Had US Airways liquidated the entire industry would have benefited greatly, including AWA
Parker' move to merge with DAL would not have been rebuffed if we were little 'ole AWA

I would gladly set the clock back and take my chances on what would have happened.

What a fantasy world! Recheck those profits. AWA would have brought nothing DL needed and the only reason they were going to get the money to do it last time was because of what the money people "thought" Doug did with the US merger. Again, history shows where AWA would have been absent this merger, west pilots just refuse to acknowledge it.

I don't think I am that informed....heck, sometimes I come here looking for answeres....

Ever heard the phrase, "justice delayed is justice denied"? Hope you get some more amusement over what I am thinking about that.

west pilots just refuse to acknowledge it.

Like East pilots refuse to acknowledge what their future held without the merger...pot, meet kettle.

AWA had last had a quarterly loss in the 3rd quarter of 2004 - so indeed had 3 straight quarterly profits prior to the merger.

How about the fleet plan - that's appendix B of the TA for quick reference. It projected a net gain of aircraft, as opposed to US shrinking.

Forget about what may or may not have happened to AWA absent the merger.

And tell us, where would AAA be now absent the merger.

Why? I have not claimed it's glory or that it would be anything. Why, when I counter the delusional claims of west pilot past glory do you guys always say "yeah, but US really sucked!"?

Again, history shows where AWA would have been absent this merger,
I'm not so sure about that. The "evidence" that people point to when they claim that is based on circumstances that happened, or may have happened, due to the merger.

For example, closing LAS, downsizing PHX, etc. Once the merger closed, completely new dynamics came into play, allowing management to go in directions they could not go before. Was the downsizing due to loss of market, or did the new company suddenly have cheaper labor costs east of the Mississippi? What about connecting traffic? Maybe they wanted to focus on international markets that were more lucrative now that the airline was significantly larger. Maybe those international flights were only profitable now because of the extra passenger feed. With margins as thin as they are, it only takes a handful of extra passengers to make a money losing flight become profitable. What if there was one less domestic airline? How would that have effected AWA? There are just too many variables. The business model changed for both airlines on the day of the merger.

I'm not saying they wouldn't have had trouble. All airlines did, and had to adapt. They did manage to eek out a profit for 3 quarters while most others were losing money. But to say that a specific set of events that happened since the merger, would have also happened absent the merger is disingenuous because it ignores the fact that the entire playing field would have been completely different absent the merger.

Why do you do that? One has nothing to do with the other. I am countering a claim made by a west pilot and you post a reply to me that does not apply to what I'm saying. Why didn't you answer my other posts?

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2005-01-21-amwest-earnings_x.htm

Yeah jetz................with those great economy resistant markets in PHX and LAS I can see how you would come to those conclusions. Jeeze.........this is just getting funny!

You mean you're giving the canned response - countering requires at least some facts. West pilot says US would have liquidated, East pilot says HP would have too. East pilot says HP was falling on hard times, West pilot says US would have liquidated.

The facts say that 3 of the 4 claims you're trying to "counter" are true - HP was growing, had 3 straight quarters of profits, and the liquidation of US would have benefited the industry (including HP).

I show a net loss for 4th quarter 2004, so one of us has wrong numbers. As far as those airplanes go, how many Airbus were scheduled to be delivered to US this year? How many actually will be?
