US Pilots Labor Discussion 8/25- STAY ON TOPIC AND OBSERVE THE RULES

His and Ames whipsaw is pie-in-the-sky.

Try to remember that when the west guys are pushing back from the CLT gates bound for FRA and you are holding your USAPA Strike picket out by the curb. USAPA needs to stop burying it's head in the sand regarding unity and begin the hard work of building some, or it risks this very scenario becoming a reality.

Clear,

I'm not sure that the FA's will have a new contract anytime soon. Between the PBS issue, the reserve issues, the follow the pilots on trips issues, the East tidying the cabin on west coast issues and the unknown money issues I see a no vote coming. I could well be wrong, but the scuttlebutt I am getting says there are potentially a lot of no votes waiting to be cast.

Because FA's have normally negotiated and ratified once a pilot contract is in place and because I don't see a pilot contract being set for a vote for 2-3 years, this will continue to be a huge labor mess.
Parkers loves this! Why un-neuter the cat?

FYI - 20 A350's are on the East Attachment B (If we ever see them).

All this talk about the TA, and not one of you gets the facts of the matter straight. The truth is, the company is going to "interpret" the TA anyway they see fit to accomplish what they want to do.

Lets start off with the above quote to highlight my point. The TA says attachment B is for the "merged airline". The company could put any 350s anywhere they want, and say since it says "merged airline" there is no reference to the period of seperate ops and that they can do whatever they want. BTW, since the attachments are by N number, are those 20 A350s the first 20 delivered, the last 20 delivered, the 20 options that don't get delivered? Get my point?

The TA specifically says, new hire pilots will be placed on a third list. Where did that list go?

The flying to Brazil and Tel aviv is not "european", heck the company could argue that neither are flights to the UK and DUB because they are not on the continent. My point, they could find plenty of places to send West crewed 330s and argue they are within their TA rights.

Don't forget the West AFA MEC chair rummaging through the East's luggage after they left for "the Sulley", stealing a confidential USAPA Negotiating Committee document, making illegal copies and dispersing them.

Oh yea, she was the spouse of the first PHX USAPA rep.

Integrity Matters!

What is "the Sulley"?

This is quite true and if the "snapback arbitration" goes in favor of the east pilots I would anticipate those aircraft heading to the west ops almost overnight. Separate ops = whipsaw, one way or another.
US east labor unions were whipsaw into HP type wages and work rules. It would be poetic justices

They're more hard over than USAPA about DOH. 25 years is junior out East and I can't wait to turn those gals loose on your posterior.

Just keep dreamin' about that East bid
.

I am looking forward to it. Every east FA I have had the pleasure of meeting has been a class act.

Some have been senior, some junior, already flown with very junior who recalled West, but not all have been "gals".

when the west guys are pushing back from the CLT gates bound for FRA

FRA is that a "European destination" or is it far enough east to be considered "Eastern European"? hmmm...well there is always Athens!

Oh wait, here is another way around the TA. Originate the flight numbers from PHX and back.

Flight 3 now goes PHX-ORD-PHL-MAN, Flight 15 LON-CLT-PHX.

Seems to me those flights originated at "points West of the Mississippi".

So Parker could open "satellite" bases back East? Using what FAs?

First of all, once the f/a's are integrated then their TA is null and void and they can all fly with east or west pilots. Can someone explain what opening up a pilot satellite has to do with f/a's? Does your company have a policy of only flying pilots and f/a's from common bases?

I've heard of some airlines keeping pilots and f/as together for an entire pairing. But I've never heard of this co-domicile thing, and don't think any other company does this. At UA we have pilot domiciles where there are no f/a domiciles, and f/a domiciles where no pilot domicile exists. JFK pilots fly with west coast f/a's all the time. Heck sometimes we have f/a's from 3 or 4 different domiciles on different pairings on each flight.

So what would prevent the company from moving 330's (those not specifically covered in the TA) to PHX and 320's to CLT to keep minimum fleet numbers, or having west crews in a PHL satellite fly to Europe to destinations announced after the TA was signed, with east f/a's on "non-TA 330's?"

The F/A will have a new contract soon. That means the east F/A's will be flying with west pilots. Kind of removes that road block.

Cd,

You are either dreaming or bellying up to the bar with DP and Mike Flores down there in tempe. The East F/A's are not going to vote yes on any contract that eliminates the 'Me too' clause

We do have a great group of F/As. I can say that my experiences with west F/As have all been positive too.
