US Pilots Labor Discussion 3/19- STAY ON TOPIC AND OBSERVE THE RULES

Your opinion of me, or my career, means nothing to me.

Years of service doesn't guarantee wisdom, just like it doesn't guarantee seniority. There's ample proof of that on these boards.

The philosophy behind this method of integration makes complete sense to me, whether I 'm harmed by it or not. Regardless of how I liked the result, I dealt with it, because it was fair and was what we had agreed to. No lawsuit, no bellyaching, no welshing on a deal.

1) Full agreement with you there.
2) Lack of the same equally fails to provide any warranty as to "wisdom", and we can again agree that there's ample proof of that on these boards.
3) Fair enough. Our beliefs therein are diametrically opposed. I hold opposite notions that DOH, whether or not it harmed me or anyone else, is the only rational basis for ever establishing seniority within any working class and craft.
4) Feel fully free to take your condescending, whopping 23 years worth of BS and find some appropriately sunless location for it.

In response to post #130 - Ames

Here's your example:

East pilot - MONDA - (doh: 7/18/1988) 19 yrs 2 mo years of service - continuous service and has never been furloughed,

placed junior to West pilot - BOYD - (doh: 4/4/2005) 5 months of service (still on probation).

These lengths of service based on merger date of Sept 2005.

Monda is 3 numbers junior to Boyd on the Nic list dated Jan 2007.
And this is why we are going to fight you to the end!

To answer your question, DOH and LOS means little within ALPA. Most other unions accept that those metrics are crucial in determining one's seniority, on any and all combinations of lists.
SMOKING HOLE! And that is why the Delta boys show up here. They can't handle it. Best move we ever made, shakin ALPA and putting in MIKE CLEARY!

... Those on the EAST WILL never sign a JOINT CONTRACT with the NIC attached...

USAirways can't afford an industry standard contract right now (and won't be able to until this economy turns around), and I can't imagine anyone--east or west-- wanting to agree to one that pays much less than industry standard. Your next contract may result from an 1113 hearing, or at least the threat of one...

Thank you for providing links to your opinion on "Mr" Parkers ability to raise financing.

I have brought up Wiki in the past, that provides facts, one out of ten times you provided your "expert" opinion. Opinions sting, the truth hurts, facts provided thrust an epee into the opinionated fool.
Where are your facts to back up your statement that money has NOT come to US AIrways because of Parker?

"Not exactly inexperienced" should "reasonably" place him as captain above someone with over 19 years on the line....umm...WHY? Spare me whatever your notions of "fair" are for the moment..and kindly just explain any supposed, foundational "logic" one could EVER use to come up with that idea?
Really, Nicolau placed Boyd as a captain. What list are you looking at? Boyd is only three people senior to Monda on the Nicolau list. chances are they will be in the same upgrade class.
If you are still having trouble understanding how someone came up with the idea of how that list was made. TRY READING THE NICOLAU. He explains it very clearly. We don't need to explain anything. The arbitrator did that. Maybe he just used to many big words.

1) I couldn't care less if even The Great and Powerful Oz himself says the nic's "right"...It isn't....Period. I'm far more concerned with what's behind the curtain. One has principles or doesn't. If you have even any slight semblance of an actual argument to offer in support of whatever your supposed beliefs are..well....I'm all ears. I'm sure we could all benefit from better, or even slightly, understanding your actual thinking and viewpoint, versus the twisted, cryptic one-liners.

It really doesn't matter what concerns you. An arbitrator has made a decision and the Federal court has ruled against you.

You guys are wrong - period.

And no dogfight is ever going to prove you right.

What are the East pilots gonna do after the RLA steps are done and the company imposes a CBA?

So I guess the Dash 8's at America West were commuters also.
No, they were actually part of mainline.

We didn't have to be furloughed to fly the Dash.

Unlike the east, you guys actually DID have to be FURLOUGHED to fly at MDA which means you weren't on the mainline seniority. And, once again, the courts have backed that up.

Most other unions are not pilots.

If USAPA and APA were to merger we use A/M. That does not specify DOH or LOS. Along with the new Mccakill Bond bill you would not get either one of those. So it is not just ALPA it is pilots. I don't care what the MX or F/A do it has nothing to do with us.
