US Pilots Labor Discussion 1/13- OBSERVE THE RULES OF THE BOARD!

Then by all means, have your BPRs put in resolution to take the Kirby (as modified by the company of late, but INCLUDING the NIC) and put it out for a vote. I'll ask my BPRs to support you. Let's get the vote rolling now. We could have it out to the members in less than 60 days, I'm sure. Golf, no matter how much you wish otherwise, the Kirby is the best we're going to get out of the company for a long time. But with no resolution at a BPR meeting, we'll never get a vote.
I'm with you 100%. Any high school business or accounting student could tell us that the company isn't going to offer more than the Kirby proposal until the P&L demonstrates it can support more in pliot wages. So Kirby + NIC out for a vote in 60 days. Then there will either be a contract or at least an objective measure of where the NIC and a new CBA stands. The injunction can be lifted and any penalties associated with the DFR would cease. What could be better? A vote is exactly what this pliot group needs.

Thanks for your sub prime concerns, but most of us are doing just fine.

As for Nic, I go to sleep every night without a worry in the world. It's ironic that bringing in USAPA was the best thing that ever happened to the west in that it eliminated any separate representation the west had from the east. For USAPA to renegotiate the Nic would be discriminatory against the west pilot group and a failure in the duty of fair representation.

But even that scenario isn't going to happen as there is an injunction in place against USAPA to do that very thing. You won't see the company touch Nic with a 10 foot pole - ever.

No, the question is not (and hasn't been for quite a while now) whether or not Nic will be implemented, the question is when.

And that is just around the corner.

Just addressing your concerns about LOA 93 with us HP. You commented on how it is destroying us in the earlier thread. Remember, we have been living under it for a while. We have the PBGC. We have hope of possibly getting out of LOA 93. Try negotiating housing prices upward.... As I said, you brought up the subject of duress. Anyway, I am looking forward to Wake getting an education as to how far he can continue to reach into union matters. Believe me, it is highly frowned upon in educated labor and legal circles to meddle in union issues. We will soon find out that issue. My bet is with Hate- you got a lot of mileage out of the Bush desert appointee judge. He stepped out of his area of comfort. He almost went as far as to try and impose NIC. He got an earful on how that would sit with the NMB. I look at this like the OJ trial- a total miscarriage of justice. Call it what you want, it was a circus of Bush anti union venom. You got your OJ type decision. Does not mean it was correct. But we will see... This company is NEVER going to impose the NIC. You have got to make it happen. There is only one way to do it. Make it happen if you can. My money says you can't, and you know it.

As I've said before regarding housing prices - most of us out here are doing just fine, are in for the long haul, and really don't need to worry about housing values. For you guys to focus on something so unrelated to work smacks of desperation. How about sticking to our labor related issues.

As for Wake, he's a pretty smart guy. I wouldn't underestimate him. Amazing how you guys dream up stuff against highly educated and well established individuals when the don't make favorable decisions. Guess that's a coping thing, right?

And that whole thing about the company imposing a contract is all very hypothetical stuff. My point was that anything is possible. For a pilot to doubt that is surely a recipe for future contractual disaster.

No, the contract won't be imposed. My take is that it will be voted in by the majority of east and west pilots that are ready to move on. My only other scenario is a merger with United when the Nic will be used in the integration process with that airline.

The West doesn't have to make it happen. They have a sure fire friend... the east wives. Grandma is gonna make gramps cave so she can spoil the grandkids with more Hershey's chocolate kisses... they are really expensive, as you know.

Driver,

We are very patient..........with age comes patience! Our attrition is very important to us.

Hate
If attrition is/was so important why was there no discussion of protecting during arbitration?

Nicolau told you the east was not getting DOG/LOS. Come back with a fence protecting attrition if it was so valuable. Why now is attrition the most important thing?

I guess it was not so important when it was time to talk about it.

No offense dude, but my damages are approaching half a million and counting.

Pay and plan B add's up quickly X 1500+/- west pilots.

That's the funniest thing I've seen posted here in quite a while.

Why not take that assertion to the bank and get an advance from them so you can start spending it now?

Better yet, ask Guido the Tiger the for the loan...that should solve our collective problem very promptly.
