BAGGAE HANDLER AND PROUD …
Yeah, no kidding. That's why these posters suck: people that take pride in their job and do it well shouldn't be depicted as buffoons or instructed like children.

BAGGAE HANDLER AND PROUD …
I Am of course just kidding , I don’t feel insulted by the posters because I’ve long since stopped feeling ashamed of being a baggage handler , in fact these days I tell people what I do with pride , and I make sure to emphasize BAGGAE HANDLER . .. The world has changed , and I’ve changed with it …
BAGGAE HANDLER AND PROUD …
... as long as you can understand what i'm trying to convey that's good enough for me ..
Obviously you didn't read the Ethics book the company sent you. If you've given it any thought then you would possibbly see that they are portaying you exactly how you shouldn't portray other co-workers.
Is the company making fun of you? I don't know, but some might think so! Do they value you enough to characterize you as a cartoon character....OBVIOUSLY
.. so if their intent was to make my mind revist unsafe procedures it worked , and it didn't just work on me but from some of the other posts on here dealing with the issue it also worked ... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ...
I didn't read any posts that agreed with you?
I aim this question mostly at freedom: Why are there no posters from management in the pilot groups depicting drunken pilots? Do posters in flight attendant break rooms show fa's as big-breasted hussies? Are mechanics depicted as big, hairy apes holding a wrench like a weapon? No. Why? Those groups wouldn't stand for it. Why is it perfectly okee-dokee to depict a fleet service agent as a fat, unkempt goon?
You know at my new (all-east) station, our managers get these types of things and they chuck them in the rubbish bin. Why? Because they know that they will cause hard feelings and they are insulting to our workgroup. That is the difference between east management vs west management. East uses their judgment to keep from creating a negative stir. West managers love to stir it up and stir it they do! I bet JF and his boy of the week put those posters up knowing full well that they were insulting. They were probably hiding behind the filing cabinets and snickering while fleet took offense.
I can see what your getting at about the pilots and flight attendants not being subject to childish promotions from the company …
While it doesn’t bother me , I guess I can see how some could look at it and take offense .. . In fact if I was still in my old state of mind where I didn’t feel as proud as I do today about what I do ,I think I would find it offensive ..
This is largely due to our proximity to corporate; management here is under constant pressure to keep the pet hub operating as they think it should. You know at my new (all-east) station, our managers get these types of things and they chuck them in the rubbish bin.
It is true (IMO) that our least-effective and least-respected managers are homegrown. It's fun to criticize them. Why? Because they know that they will cause hard feelings and they are insulting to our workgroup. That is the difference between east management vs west management. East uses their judgment to keep from creating a negative stir. West managers love to stir it up and stir it they do!
I'd imagine they probably thought of them as goofy and stupid like the rest of us, if they cared to think of them at all; but who knows. A few of the posters have been defaced and taken down.I bet JF and his boy of the week put those posters up knowing full well that they were insulting. They were probably hiding behind the filing cabinets and snickering while fleet took offense.
