TWU update

A change in representation does not change CBAs, all the twu would do is adminster the IAM CBA.

You are not an authority on the RLA. You are not a lawyer. And you are clearly not a union rep.

The TWU has the same rights as any other labor organization - negotiate with the company. The results are transition and/or section 6.

Ramp wake up. The IAM is over.

Mechanic and Related, we have our CBA, cant speak for the ramp.

Yeah, thanks to Andy Marshall from the TEAMSTERS! Don't beat me up now . . .

There will not be Section 6 negotiations as niether IAM CBA are amendable.

I have been through four mergers now here at US, I know what I am talking about.

I have cited case after case.

Call the NMB if you don't believe.

A change of representation does not open up a CBA, never has and never will.

Nelson is a punk and balls is the one thing he does not have!
He is your typical other side of the fence guy and out for self gain. GO IAM!!

No but 25 IAM members can reopen a few things! :p Like your skull :p

I guess you could say the rampers went on a RAMPage! :p

Or got a little RAMPbunctous! :p
neanderthal responses from the non technical saavy at heart.tactic learned from teamsters i bet....

So 7....you are saying that the company can't say "let's get back into negotiations" and are you saying that the union can't say "yes we would like to do that" or visa versa? :)

so you're saying there is more money and benefits for all and company and union are going to get something going?

only an idiot would believe that this company is profitable and ready to pass it along to the masses.last time i looked the POR isn't where its supposed to be and fuel is surely going to go through the roof.....
so who is IBT BSing once again as they try to get votes for bullcrap??

Keep your head buried in the sand.

I have shown you precedent cases and you can't accept the truth.

Say bye bye to the twu and welcome to the IAM.

I don't have a dog in this fight but the IAM raided an independent union at TWA, preached their "clout" and gave away SCOPE which cost 4200 f/as their careers and seniority as high as 49 years. Think very carefully. Ask for copies of their Constitution and By Laws (for all unions in question). Note the % of dues dollars allowed for the locals. Note if the International can over ride a vote of the membership. Note how "leaders" are chosen. The IAM regularly practices "white balloting". You are required to vote for representatives of other locals (which you have no knowledge about) and they in turn vote for your General Chairpersons. This is a way the leadership with the big salaries can be controlled by the International. After all "big daddy" knows what is best for the peons. Just be fair in your choices. We had a date of hire merger when we acquired Ozark and it avoided labor problems, really didn't affect what we could hold, (if you were junior, you were still junior, senior, the same). and I don't know of anyone who said, "if we had only screwed OZ, I could have.....whatever" Good luck in your decision.

LOL.....I suppose you are allowed your opinion but, that neanderthal seems to have a grasp on reality. Well said Bob  .

:)

Thanks barbee for the info. from the NMB. :)

It took some courage to do what you did BOB. Good job.

7 you still have not answered my question about negotiations. Of course I don't expect you to answer. I'm sure dell will answer for you. :)

keep the cards coming. CLT produced more cards yesterday. ORD started its card drive and ran damn close to 100% on day shift by picking off 23 in two days.

Evening shift should net most of the rest to score somewhere around 40 total TWU cards.

More contacts have been made in numorous cities but I won't post the card totals until the signups become complete. The IAM has been flying its Bo$$es all over the place going to some stations that they haven't been to since the last sellout.

Remember, the IAM agreed to have fleet service contracted out more than any other major airline, union or non-union.

regards,

Tim

You are urging your coworkers to jump from the frying pan into the fire.

The TWU is a company union.

Many of the concessions that the IAM granted in BK were concessions that the TWU gave AA over 20 years ago.

B-scale, medical benifits, part time, junior fleet service clerks, straight time until 40 hours are worked etc were all put in place by the TWU.

The TWU allowed the company to contract out ALL building cleaning in 1995, they contracted out cabin cleaning in 2003. The TWU contract also allows the company to contract out any title group, including fleet service.

Lets not forget the TWU Junior Fleet service clerk, a C-scale that created a lower pay rate. All of these long standing concessions pressured your employer and the IAM into matching the costs of AA.

The TWU did all this outside of BK.

I can understand your disapointment with the IAM but the TWU?
