Maybe not, but it's a new start in a different direction....The IAM is and has been USELESS for the Fleet Group.
IAM has been useless for mechanics also. Only a couple hundred mechanics and some non-mechanics [insert 700 here] who frequent the local really support the piss clam union.
That is why the IAM stands NO chance to win an election and will soon be removed completely from yet another airline. In fact, once the US AIRWAYS mechanics kick out 700's sacred cow, offhand I can't think of one major airline where the 'sweet' IAM is left. You would think that 700 might realize that all the thousands of airline mechanic folks who have booted out the IAM might be right.
The IAM will lose big as they lose another 8,000 members on this property and their once million member racket is reduced to somewhere around 300,000 active members.
At any rate, the good thing is that the working men and women realize they are better off without the IAM.
