I'm tired of people asking the same stupid questions over and over again the answer aren't going to change. At least after the meeting I have a better understanding why negotiations are taking so long. If we are going to live with the next contact for lets say 5 to  8 years or so, we better make sure the language is clear
The guy you're responding to doesn't care about the truth. He's just going to sell as much misery and anger as he possibly can so he doesn't lose hope of that dream of his that will slip away when they get that JCBA.

So what did you learn in that meeting or now understand better?

The company wanted to rush through the articles keep many the same. The union wants to go over each article, which makes sense, at least to me. The language as you know is very important. I still think both sides could speed it up if they want to

The problem is not totally on the company. The association has its internal issues between the two unions cultures and each side does not want to concede to the other on many issues. This information came out a while back from the local. Until they settle their differences we will continue to move at this slow pace. No doom and gloom created by me. This is what it is and meeting once a month for a week is no record breaking pace. Believe what you want but after 30 years under the twu I see the same negotiating tactics. Only difference is the junior guys who have not experienced this as many times as I did or most of us who hired in the the mid eighties think that this time it will be different. So far I don't see it.

there not idiots and I don't appreciate you calling my friends and coworkers idiots. They got up and spoke out. I'm tired of people like you who do nothing but lay down and take it. I wasn't embarrassed I was proud of them

Hey wait a minute? I thought you said they were only meeting once a month implying one day a month? Now they're meeting once a month for a week? Keep going man, you're almost there. Add some more weeks and you got it.

Of course they could speed it up. But that means one side has to accept something they don't really want. Let's hope that it's eventually the company side that agrees with you.

There are at least two articles that could've been handled in 5 minutes...maybe 10.
Uniforms............If the company issues you a uniform..YOU ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR IT.....PERIOD!
Bulletin Boards......Why do we even have them? This is 2016, everyone has a smart device and/or email.,,,,,,Use them. Check your email for both union and company information...Period!
The entire business world runs on email for communication and even business dealings. Yet we are still having discussions on where bulletin boards should hang and what is to be posted on them.

So is the company required to provide us uniforms? If so, how many pairs? Do they pay for them or do we? They used to be required to dry clean them for us. Is that coming back? What about jackets? Winter wear, rain gear? That's all uniforms as well.

And I don't know about Maintenance, but Fleet took 20 minutes to finish Bulletin Boards. Maybe you got your 5 minutes for that in your group?

BTW the members overwhelmingly voted back in Gary Peterson so I guess they're ok with the pace then or else they would have been screaming for change.

plus they now have the electronic bulletin boards on jetnet. Plus training is in your company e mail and staf admin. So that should have maybe took a minute. This is a non issue grievance should of been talked about by both unions before negotiations. So they should of just wait for the company to reply are counter are what ever. But why that's going on talk about something else. If the union is tired of hearing us complian allow observers

So let's spend another week on uniforms to make sure we get it right. Cmon WeAAsles, uniforms and bulletin boards should take a back seat to the more important economic and benefit issues. Bulletin Boards should be a thing of the past. We all have company email.....USE IT.........Same for the union.....Every member should sign on their union's website for information regularly. That might at least help with the apathy problem and members will be updated as soon as they sign on.

BTW, do you support the company enforcing wearing a uniform and the proper footwear? Do you think it is professional to be in the public eye wearing sneakers, tank tops and sweat pants?

Idiots?  I saw one person mention it along with other issues they had a question about. Sure, everybody has already heard the management's logic - or lack there of - for not giving us the 4%, it was interesting to see Isom attempt to continue to justify chumping the TWU workers out of 4%.  It's not just about the 4%.  What is embarrassing to me, is being represented by the TWU period - even more so this stupid joint association.

BTW, why would Isom and Co. show up un-announced at 10:00PM at the hanger?   I also heard that local management was deciding who got to ask the questions using the microphone.

I am not encouraged by Isom's or Wheel's responses.  It sounds more and more like the company is stalling.  They can call it what they want, but at the end of the day - they are not moving, and we are losing money with each passing day without a new contract.  There will be no retro, signing bonus - not gonna happen.  We hear the company come out and talk unicorns and glitter; however, for the Association represented - "hang in there", "we are working real hard", "we appreciate your patience", "look for future updates on our continuing negotiations schedule".   Good luck to our negotiators, from the body language, and responses I saw from Isom and Wheel - we are in for a long negotiation process.

Just hope all you TWU/IAM represented continue to give 100% to show the company how much you appreciate all that they have done for you over the last 13 years!

I have no clue why many of you don't get this? Every little item has an extra added cost to the company if it's an improvement from what was formally in our two separate contracts for both groups. Some items may be a gain for one group and a concession for another but together there's going to be a cost attached to the whole. ALL items have a level of importance to the whole agreement and that "could" affect the biggest economic items we feel are most important to us?

Metal I know a guy here who says he'll vote it down if they change the CS policy on our side and make it into more restricted language. Honestly this guy is a putz. He doesn't commute and just likes to earn lots of extra money working. So I told him that we're going to get about a $1000.00 per month raise from where we are right now and you'll STILL vote no? I had to walk away from the conversation after he answered stupidly.

Do you really believe they are only working on one Article at a time? Cmon man, again I know you're smarter than that.

On your BTW question. I wear the proper footwear, keep my uniform clean and tucked in and have my hair cut above my ears and currently have no beard. If I do grow a beard I keep it well groomed. Does that answer your question what I think about maintaining a professional appearance?

That's how we see it on our side. Maybe the IAM side does not agree with how we do it at the new AA. My point on the infighting. Maybe it took that long because it was the association not the company that dragged out uniforms and bulletin boards. As long as the two unions continue to disagree on articles the pace will continue slower than we would like. I personally blame the association. Others can form their own opinions. One union, one voice. That's what the pilots and flight attendants did.
