Then ask yourself why the mechanics at Southwest never rid themselves of AMFA. If they are an acceptable failure at most, then why do they still keep AMFA on their property?

Sorry man. I'm not aiming my rifle at you. Just the pathetic salesman (1AA) that has nothing else to contribute to these boards to try and sell his product except dissatisfaction for everything else.

I wish AMFA SWA a huge success but that isn't where ANY of you should be focusing on now since you still have I believe another year and a half before you could even consider being able to file cards if the Association actually does fail you.

Exactly. My guess is that there are some UA mechanics who wish their "brothers" had never voted AMFA off the property during the UA bankruptcy. They were lured by the siren song of the Teamsters, who wanted some additional dues.

No airline union has ever been able to successfully resist concessions in bankruptcy, but some misguided UA mechanics were convinced that their concessions were AMFA's "fault" and that replacing AMFA was the best choice available. Bet they wish they could undo that mistake.

AMFA is going on six years, SWAPA and the TWU (FAs) voted a TA down. But hey you always blame the union, never the company.
Well now, why do you suppose the AMFA is supposed to better when they are already at the top pay wise?  Meanwhile, the rest of (one size fits all) industrial union types are languishing behind the AMFA represented AMTs by almost $15.00ph, with bankruptcy negotiated benefits.  Tell us what airline - the AMFA negotiators should use as an example of how their AMTs should be compensated.  Your union - the IAM, and (this makes me sick to say) my union - the TWU together have decimated the AMTs in this industry with the help of the IBT.  AMTs support the AMFA, hands down.

Did all those Unions (Including AMFA) drive down this average? Seems to me that every Union represented group (Including AMFA) is making more than this?

AA would gladly give them that salary if they would agree to Fedex work rules, for some reason they don't want to hear that part

All the guys that comment on this page have 25 years plus. I can guarantee you they'd jump on it in a heartbeat. Even if they might say otherwise.

They would lose thousands of jobs what happened to their unity?
I never said that they would admit publicly that they would jump on it. You have to be able to read between the lines at what these guys write to catch what they really want.

Darn I should have bought GOGO this morning. Oh well at least AAL is heading back up again.

Sorry just thinking out loud.

Not taking offense to anything. But as you just posted regarding salaries...."People always prefer to look up at the sky rather than down at the dirt."
You bring up AMFA's failures and their getting ousted at UA....But don't mention what they achieved at SWA or the fact that their mechanics stick with them. Kind of the same thing...

As for giving the ASSociation a chance, well we have no choice. But if they do fail us, and subsequently screw us as far as aircraft maintenance goes, I would suspect a another card drive. And maybe an even more energetic one at that given there will be MORE mechanics (LUS) who would be added to the "screwed" list.

Couldn't you say the TWU has done very well for LUV's ramp?
I guess you could. I wish we AA mechanics could say the same.
Heck, since you went there, couldn't you say the TWU has done very well regarding the pay and benefits over at the bus and rail divisions?
I guess the THAT TWU never had a cozy relationship with the Legacy AA management.
