You're admitting to that or taking blame? In the end I wonder how many lives your efforts ruined. After that dismal failure you are the last person to give advice
In this case his advice is exactly correct. I was not at NWA but marched with them in Washington DC to better the profession. This going to the TWU Hall is and has been a waste of time.
Now that the company has the Association's proposal why has it not been released to the membership?

My guess is that, no matter how hard Doug Parker tries to pay the mechanics, the Association, that is the TWU and the IAM, which are socialists in nature, will do as they always have.
They will take care of the Fleet Service and others because they have the numbers. Go back and read the position of many on these boards concerning the attitude of 700, as he derides the mechanics in favor of socialized unionism. Why do you think the mechanics want to walk away?

When the union will allow me to stop paying for services un-rendered, it will be done. I have been down the Agency Fee path, it is a political move that the TWU hates.

Hey dude if you want to live on your knees the rest of your life under crappy union contracts even in the best of times be my guest. Sometimes you have to take a stand and fight for whats right. The TWU and the IAM flat out suck I have not seen either union ever negotiate a decent contract for mechanics in the 30 years I have been in this industry and I lived the misery of the IAM at NWA. AMFA at the time was the only viable option to get out from under their crap. Well thanks to 9/11  that allowed NW to formulate a plan to eliminate AMFA. Did we win? No we didnt but one thing that did happen the wage you enjoy now as well as myself you can thank us at NWA and AMFA for that. Of course the TWU and IAM are in a race to the bottom again. Now you guys at AA have both IAM and TWU good luck you're gonna need it.
How many times have you been knocked down in 30 years? All unions are the same, go with AMFA you'll be complaining about them in a month. You're fighting a useless war, save your energy for something more productive. Unionism died years ago do you remember how powerful ALPA was now look at it. How many people show up at meetings? How many people vote? How many people think their union sux? Nobody cares

That's just the attitude capital wants you to have; resigned and passive.
I don't know your background I'm assuming you've been  in the industry fo more than a few years. Is there no truth to what I said?

Long enough to know that your throwing in of the towel is exactly the stuff bosses' dreams are made of.

You might've checked out, but that doesn't mean everyone has...

Are you going to start singing "High Hopes" It's the same B/S different diaper in my case it's the same diaper. I dont see much progress the unions have made in the last 30 years or so, have they not lost their membership?

What are you doing to change that, then?
I thought a change in leadership might help so I listen to the candidates to see if they had any substance. I cast my ballot, unfortunately my candidate had a terrible, terrible showing. Now hes walking around the station really POed

Its going to take just long enough for the membership to vote yes on anything to come down the line. If they vote NO the contract numbers will just be rearranged to vote on but the bottom line cost for the company will be the same. We are going to get what Doug Parker says we will get! If not the company has nice long dinosaur contracts in place neg by both numbskull unions.

Nothing will ever change if this kind of attitude doesn't change.

So a week from today they could possibly meet...Hopefully Isom and boys haven't been hanging out with the Equity Arbitrator and came down with the same ailment that has prevented him from doing his job lately. Nothing, and I mean nothing comes as a shock anymore.

Could?

They are meeting for three weeks starting next Monday.
