TWU-IAM Finally Getting Ready for JCBA Negotiations

Buck,
You are correct the multiple line locals being merged to one was for financial crisis reasons. A new side letter deal was cut with Durst but Wroble squashed it.

And no you remembered wrong. I am in favor of a TWU M&R local for AA. And if the choice were to stay TWU only I would vote yes for that too.
Why don't you explain to the users here what would be required to gain an M&R Union under the TWU International? Explain how the membership can petition the International by changing the International Constitution and it's by-laws. Explain how much power the Air Transport Division has at the Constitutional Convention and while you are at it, call the AFL-CIO and explain to them your intent.

OT deals? The new interview selection process?
Crew chiefs are on the same OT list as the mechanics..So I don't know what deals they are making that would not include the rest of the mechanics.
As for the selection process, yes, "favorite sons" probably do get chosen, but how does that equate to "moving the metal?" They can't do it alone.

so I clicked on this thread and jumped about 75 pages since I last looked at it - when the questions in the post then were where was the ruling from the NMB.

Apparently the NMB has been heavily focused on the failed IAM campaign for DL FAs.

Anyone want to venture a guess on how that IAM effort at DL affects the NMB and the implications for the AA/US vote?

Have you forgotten about the new OT rules? The list can be bypassed for job continuation. Put the CC on an RII task, closing out an aircraft, etc and there you go...job continuation

I have not forgotten. But you are making it sound like crew chiefs and crew chiefs alone are doing the work all by themselves.

Basically, what are you insinuating the crew chiefs are doing that is making MIA look so good and getting a lot of work?

By law, it should have zero effect.
The issues between the two cases are very different.
But, after reading the letter from the IAM, my take away from it is:
Moving forward, it's going to be extremely difficult, if not impossible to ever get a showing of interest from any very large group to get a new vote from the NMB.
It just seems as if it's very easy to disqualify cards.

So, what ever Union a very large workforce has now, or does not , will probably be the way it will stay for some time, for whatever that's worth.

And again, if the rules are applied to the case in front of the NMB regarding TWU/IAM, it should be the TWU going forward, nothing else has showing of interest.

United and Continental have SOC and they still have no jcba under the same union.
1AA, do you have any idea if the organizers have been collecting cards during this long awaited pause of waiting on the NMB's decision?  I know they were keeping out of the forums this time around.  Please don't give any details, but was curious if they have been continuing to collect cards is all.  I really hope you guys get to vote on this association and it would be a huge bonus if AMFA was also an option on the ballot.  Good luck to you guys. Hope you all hear something soon...

Yes it was squashed. Bob is always saying on this forum, How the new board made it possible to removed someone if they do something Wrong. I am not saying anyone did anything wrong but they never held a investigation to see if something did. I was there and so was a LOT of other people. They made a decision without talking to ANYONE other the the person on the board that was brought up on charges.

This is why Bob will not answer me on this board, because he knows it was wrong.

I would like him to tell everyone what the 591 board did and how it was investigated. This is what Jimmy Little and his boys was famous for. Protecting there own even no matter what.

Are any of you following the issues at Delta with the IAM card drive?  Here's a little info of how your possible future union is acting, which is just like the crooked teamsters did here with you guys.

Fraud questions raised in union-organizing drive at Delta

It always seems that the industrial unions do it to themselves every time.  You guys already know how the TWU works with the company giving everything away, you don't need another fraudulent union to join with the TWU and make it even worse than what you guys currently have.  Still hoping you guys get a vote on this association but I really don't see one coming...
