According to NYer you can opt out of the IAMNPF, is that true? Would you get the $2/hr to put in a 401K or IRA?

Wow. When did NYer say that.

What was said is that with the Association we will be given the opportunity to either choose the 401K or the IAMNPF, the IAM guys will get the same choices at that time.

+1 only because I can't add more.

He claims he "respects the choices of the majority" while out of the other side of his mouth promotes denying them the ability to make that choice.

Anyone can start a card drive to bring in the union they want. So far, there are not card drives for the TWU or the IAM. If AMFA is so much wanted, then they would be able to derail the Association and bring themselves onto the floor. However, that is a huge IF, isn't it.

My representative will not change with the Association, I will continue to be TWU...BTW, with the Preferential Hiring, made possible by the Association, many of our Brothers & Sisters have been able to get back on the job and it didn't matter whether it was TWU or IAM, they valued being back on the job above all else.

Something doesnt seem right here.

I cant see a Fleet Service person being on a mechanic and related negotiating committee nor a Fleet Service person voting on a CBA that they are not working under nor are they in the class and craft.
As a stock clerk/cleaner/utility highly involved in negotiations did you have a say in the mechanics pay benefits and work rules

Preferential Hiring?  Really?  Who cares?  Meanwhile your association is a combination of the absolute worst two unions for AMTs in the industry!

As Bob points out, the fleet service clerks will be deciding what the AMTs have on their contract based on the way the locals are set up for negotiations.  Is that really the kind of representation AA's AMTs want?  We have been down that road before.

Yes I did at US Mechanic and Related class and craft included Utility and until 2006 Stores was in the class and craft also and they are still under the mechanic and related contract.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

So does a CSA have a say in reservation and other non-airport jobs under the CWA contracts?

Those who took the street and need to work or those who want to get home to their families, that's who. This comment speaks volumes of your character, or lack of any. <_<

And you left in 2005 only after you facilitated concessions. With the IAM people like Roach and Sito who are no longer employed with an active carrier get to sit in top leadership roles. They are out of touch with the membership.

Keep up the lies and misinformation, you know the judge abrogated the contract and we never reached an agreement and were forced by the judge and under the law to vote on the final offer the company filed with the court.

Don't let the facts get in your way,

John John,
Why is Ellis Ryan president of local 3140 who represents MIA if he is a USAIR retiree who hasn't worked at SRQ since 2005? He doesn't know anything about AA employees working at MIA, yet he expects to represent them. He has never worked for AA and never will.

All true but doesn't change the fact that you ushered in concessions and left. Guess you are too cool to work under the very concessionary YOU negotiated.

Is he a elected union official ?

You tell me. Just saying how is it fair for the AA employees in MIA to be represented by someone who hasn't worked for nine years, worked for USAIR, and worked at SRQ (an express station). And just because he may have been "elected" means nothing. The IAM holds "elections" for officer positions but everyone knows it's a sham and they really hand pick the leadership.

Disagree. Local presidents are ELECTED by the membership. The membership got rid of the Gless and Videtich can't say the same about the IAM or CWA.
