But they are unskilled classifications and they face significant concessions those are the facts. At least the AMTs have a spine to fight your IAM just rolls over like they have done time and time again.

Josh
You do realize the Federal Government does not classify Aircraft Mechanics as skilled labor?

I would say we (labor) all allowed ourselves to get played by capital.

And yet, we continue to have these circular firing squads even today...

We're our own worst enemy...
At least the AMTs recognize this and are trying to change things. At AA they replaced Gless, Videtich at the ATD. Your IAM has the same people presiding over them that brought them to the bottom, and now the sell out UA agreement and new US agreements from a company that made $1.6 billion in six months. Pathetic anyway you look at it.

Josh

I've yet to see any real push for collective change from AMFA proponents on here ( or anyone else, really). We're still too busy fighting to kick the ladder away from each other instead of helping one another up...

TSH asked for proof of this previously, I'm also wondering where the proof is. You have a link?

Going back and reading that made my blood boil. DePace et al make me sick.

I remember watching my IAM co-workers doing my job immediately after I left and picked up my picket sign. The cowards would not even look me in the eye. They would go to work using back gates and out of the way doors to get in. Rats and cockroaches, all of them.

Anyone of them could have refused the work based on what was in their contract. Instead, the IAM "leadership" encouraged them to perform struck work. And one of the biggest defenders of that still resides here on this board (700UW).
+1 to Glenn. I guess it had to happen eventually..... :(

I Don't see AMFA National putting out any anti IAM Fliers and Twisting things with half truths or even bashing the other unions but I see the IAM AND TWU cutting down the AMFA UNION FULL BORE.

OR MAYBE AMFA DOESN'T HAVE TO AS THE IAM AND TWU FAILURES SPEEK FOR THEM ALL BY ITS OWN.

+ 1 WELL SAID Josh have a great day. .

Forget what the government thinks.... what do YOU think? Do you think they are skilled?

I personally do.

Funny an A&P requires experience and education yet is considered "unskilled"

On a further note I am glad the rest of the board finally sees in you what I saw a long time ago.

We do it to ourselves, and allow it to continue.

And hence that is why you cant get enough cards, you and others are on here begging for cards, and the majority of the Class and Craft arent on this message board.

No single union has been more drestructive to the AMT craft than the IAM. Between what happened at TWA, NWA, UAL, USAIR (three rounds of concessions), busting AMFA and pushing through piss poor contracts the IAM has don everything they can to hold back and hinder the AMT profession.

And the companies, Wall Street, SARS, Wars, Fuel costs and inept management had nothing to do with it.

Go back under your bridge.

Its quite apparent you have no concept of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Section 1113 and Section 1114 and the RLA.
