Teamsters filed at USAir for representation

The IBT is losing more members every year than any other union, thats why your raiding and not organizing.
The IBT has lost a chunk of members. Moreso than other unions. But that's not why they are raiding. They are raiding because the NMB found there was direct evidence of a vast majority who supported them and wanted an election to consider leaving the IAM.

At any rate, I hate no raid agreements. Collective Bargaining Agents are NOT the union although they present themselves as such. THey are just 'agents' to represent a group. As such, accountability is or should be the highest regard. They can and should get fired and replaced if they suck. Thankfully, there are choices

If I were you I would wait to see how the forgery and eligibility list protests end up before you claim that the teamsters have enough support to call for an election. Not arguing this point yet, myself, however it is my opinion that they will not meet the required number of cards required after the NMB eliminates some or all for forgery, and the final outcome of the eligibility list protests are known. Trust me, I would love for the teamsters to get the election ruling in their favor, let the members decide who will represent the mechanics and related at AA. Hope you guys get an election at the end of all this...

Travis, I would like to correct only one part of your statement that I have copied from your post;
"Just to remind you The IBT was on property for around 20 years and in that time SWA received the largest pay jumps Negotiated BY THE TEAMSTERS NOT amfa."
B/C you said, "in that time" your statement is completely false. My local has every single teamster contract since they have been here at SWA, all of them. There was only one largest pay jump that the SWA mechanics were able to enjoy which was the ONE (and only one) that we received in 2001 only a few months after the "industry leading wage scale and bennies" achieved by AMFA at NWA and in which was used directly by the teamsters nego team as the "new example" of industry average of pay for airline mechanics. This was the only "largest pay increase" we have ever enjoyed. All the other years that the teamsters were here we were never leading in pay, not one single time (except for 2001). Every contract with the teamsters prior to 2001 was middle or in lower list of all airlines for pay.
It's not always about the pay (money) Travis. Why do you think we fired the teamsters after signing this contract in 2001?? Please explain that to us all, since you think you know everything that goes on over hear at SWA.
You really need to do your homework before you post information when your trying to get people to follow your lead and vote for the teamsters. It has really damaged your credibility big time. Just a little friendly advice, do with it as you wish, but pls use it wisely...
Well swamt you keep using this NWA industry leading wage scale and benefits achieved by AMFA to explain how the TEAMSTERS were able to get you a contract.
You should thank the IBT for doing what you paid them for and for at least getting your pay and benefits at Above Standard Pay Rates for such a Small Airline at the time.
Your AMT’s were making more money and better Benefits Achieved by the TEAMSTERS Negotiation Team than a lot of the Major Airlines.
This is just my opinion: I think NWA set up the AMT’s as they wanted to bust the union for DELTA.
NWA and Non Union DELTA were more likely in back door plans to merge. They negotiated that industry leading wage scale and benefits and then went into Bankruptcy to let the judge do the dirty work for them. This was used to hide the merger and not look like they were union busting and setting up the merger with DELTA, The plan all along.
AFTER NWA went into Bankruptcy and NWA forced huge concessions down on Union members they were already walking into a preset trap by both companies to BUST AMFA and the rest is history.
So swamt that NWA prize winning contract was “nego” by amfa but it worked out better for SWA with the IBT than them.
Say What You Want But It Looks To Me Like The IBT Did It's JOB For You At SWA.

Chew Tobacco, Chew Tobacco, Chew Tobacco, Spit!
Have a Nice IBT Day.

Business Unionist mindset again I see. It's about the quality of the representation, not quantity of dues paying members. I always thought people join unions for job security, better wages, and working conditions *NOT* because there are hundreds of thousands of other members in the union. But to an industrial business unionist its all about bringing everyone under the same umbrella and collecting dues. You can't be all things to all people.

The IAM has lost many members too over the years and the quality of their agreements has taken a hit too. Face it the IAM has been in a downward spiral for many years and garbage T/As like the one at UA are only proof this trend is accelerating.

Travis, then tell me why in the he11 did we fire them?? WHY? Please tell us. We all want to know. Explain why we fired the teamsters after doing such a great job for the SWA membership. Quit trying to save face for the teamsters at SWA. They sucked, they still suck, and you will never get what the membership wants at any teamster represented membership as all the upper teamster leadership will always tell the membership what will take place for them. The teamsters have lost more union members than any other union out there, period. Add them all up Travis, the teamsters have lost more members than any other union out there. Now, why is that? Pls explain Travis.
You dam right I still use the NWA wage scale that AMFA nego for their members that set the BAR for the industry. If you cannot admit this then you are just here to push and lie cheat and steal to get any one to vote for the most corrupt, mob infested union out there the ibt/teamsters...

You write like such a little kid. Not just your grammatical immaturity, but the remedial conclusions you create. Southwest was never a real player in the seat revenue miles game until 1990, and even then it was a minor player considering all the other airlines that were available at that time. By 1995 revenue miles had more than doubled and 5 years later in 2000 it nearly doubled again creating the formidable low cost airline we know today. Southwest has been a strong and consistent revenue generator since then. You received a very good raise and contract in 2001 because the market was right (before 9/11) and you had a very resourceful TEAMSTER negotiating team.

I know why you "fired" them. Simple good old fashioned greed. Take a stand for $100 grand. amfa promised to get you above $40 an hour at all costs and you took it.
It's not always about the pay (money) Travis.

for Southwest amfa supporters, apparently it is?????

Have a great day, and remember to thank your local IBT representative for getting you where you are now.

"Remedial Conclusions" ?

Like this gem of yours?

You say the NWA mechanics did this for the good of the industry? I say the amfa provided a road map that other carriers were able to learn from in order to gut wages and pensions from their respective employees. I thank the amfa leadership at NWA for teaching UA how to maneuver a bankruptcy and steal my pension, wages, and benefits.

Why don't you give us a taste of your "teamster genius" and explain how the AMFA leadership at NWA helped UA steal your pension wages and benefits in bankruptcy when those concessions at UAL were all taken PRIOR to AMFA striking NWA, and PRIOR to NWA entering bankruptcy.

Explain it mouthpiece.

As usual you are wrong. We did not fire the teamsters to bring in AMFA and take a stand for 100 grand. It has been posted several times by several different individuals why we fired them and here you come along with your made up BS and try to tell all that we were greedy so we fired the teamsters. LOL. Keep posting Anomaly your doing great. And once again you go the way of grammar, punctuation, and spelling to try and discredit, not actual facts or evidence of the subject at hand. Typical response from you Anomaly.

Ask the TWA workers how the IAM worked out for them!

Josh
How stupid are you?

You have been explained numerous times on what happened.

AA would not have bought TWA unless ALL the unions, not just the IAM waived their LPPs and TWA would gone out of business.

The APFA and had an agreement and then went back on it and stapled the flight attendants, the IAM spent over $4 Million fighting it even after they werent even IAM members anymore.

The TWU has language in their CBA that states "no TWU member will be adversely effected in seniority due to a merger", the ramp and mechanic and related when to arbitration, it is called the Kasher decision if you can actually read and comprehend what transpired.

The neutral arbitrator ruled that every former TWA employee in Fleet or M&R got full seniority at JFK, MCI and STL. At all other stations, they got full seniority for pay, vacation and retirement. For bidding purposes he ruled that everyone got a seniority date of 4/10/2001 plus 25% of their TWA time.

Can you finally comprehend that or are you going to keep posting misinformation and lies?

First off, the flyer is highly inaccurate and is desperationlike. Second off, if what the flyer says is true, then every single AMR MX should vote for IBT. Yes?
It is accurate, what is inaccurate about it?

Where did you get your Law Degree?

Since it is passed through legal before it is released to the members.
