Southwest to Add In PIT

PHXFFYER is totally correct... so what WN is adding service in PIT let them it will never be as big as US ever had believe me .. when WN cuts back service its never a big deal... when we do its like holy crap its the end of the world.. WN has great PR and they hide their problems very well unlike US we have always had folks with diarreha of the mouth and tell the whole world our problems.. believe talk to the other folks at the other airlines and believe its the same old crap there also.. Parker is correct it does make it easier for US to cutback in PIT.. its no secret that CLT PHL PIT BOS LGA airport management and state officials promised the world to WN and any other so called low cost carrier to come in to replace US well it didnt happen to the big dismay to them and the competition.. Like its been said here WN is cutting back service but they are saying we will continue to grow.. WHERE.. how many more flights the country need to LAS and MCO.. thats why they are now planning to use ATA and their 757 s to expand international they have run out of places to fly domestic.. WN is cutting service to PHL the 20 minute turn doesnt work there... duh... its talkes 45 minutes to turn around those piece of crap money losing CRJ s ... they are even cutting out nonstop PHL LAX thats big.. you cant make money on flights like that? US has won PHL and has all along.. WN is leaving with THEIR tails between their legs.. they pulled out of BDL PHL and are also cutting back service PHL PVD... we have problems... yes... but man we are making money can you imagine how much we would be making if we ran a good operation and not spending thousands and thousands of dollars on just bag deliveries.. we deliver bags to folks that equal their airfare.. say goodbye to PIT there are other opportunities elsewhere.. my heart cries out to all the PIT folks on the ground and the cockpit folks.. you all have been such a GREAT bunch of people to work with and a great airport to fly to....

It's like they say, I tell 10 friends who tell 10 friends, and so on. Bad service travels fast and with US, well for the last 2 years it's been a superhighway.....no-it's been the autobahn. It's going to be much harder to make up for the customers you have driven away, and that's not WN's fault. US did it to themselves.
 
hmmm a little pissed off are we.. sorry about the spelling .. new laptop still trying to get it together... sorry the truth hurts.. the last time i checked it was called AMERICA... we have choices... just a litle tidbit for you .. everytime WN RAISES prices it benefits US of any other airline since we compete with them 45pct of our operation.. read Bloomberg report and yeah they have a proof reader for their reports.. WN has been the only airline in the last 6 months who have initated... oohh i spellleted it wrong... price hikes.. keep it coming.. US just LUVS...WN.. oh btw ..oh btw means.. by the way.. . US is still building the multi million dollar ops center in PIT.. employing hundreds of folks... yah right WN will committ to something like that to PIT... disgruntled.. hmm did i spell that right... you want US to die.. guess what it ... aint going to happen... and please dont .. dis me and dont axed me.. :lol:

I cant speak for PHL,PIT,BOS and LGA but I dont see no full blown WN ops in CLT. US service in CLT will always be a concern for the city, they are not going to kiss Wn's a$$ and promise them the world, if it were not for US this city would not have grown to it's current size without them. I dont see Airtran as a big threat to US and with Midwest putting to 2 RJ's into CLT I dont think US is losing sleep over them. So if you have proof that CLT managment promised the world to WN you need to post it.
 
I would really like to know why WN hasn't gone into MSP? We have added more and more flights to PHX and LAS. If the competition is so tough, why are we going strong with Northwest in those markets?! DEN-LAS was always a one flight a day for years. We are still very strong in the PHX-DEN market. Obviously more money to make.
The only reason they are building the ops center in PIT is because it was CHEAP!!! Doesn't mean they give a crap about PIT or making money in the market. And this merger wouldn't of happened without old America West. Calling our West operation a failiure is wrong! Without the West market, this airline would be spare to none!! We compete very well with WN here in PHX and LAS, and our economy would crumple in PHX without US. Do remember we are a feeder hub, like CLT, to many West destinations, ANC, YVR, SFO, Hawaii, Mexico, and the list goes on. :rolleyes:

We have a better competitive advantage over NW, UA, AA, CO versus WN. Yes we do very well with WN in PHX and LAS, this mangement has learned how to co-exist with WN since America West inception. Those in the East could also spend some time learning of the West's history with low fare competition out west which has now spread into the Eastern parts of the country.

I see that picture above and want cringe. I actually worked a trip that had a 737 with no seatback in 3C. This place is a dump and we DO NOT COMPETE with southwest. AT ALL! ! ! ! They would kick our A$$es in any city pair we flew head to head just about. We run and hide or fly on times that they don't. Thats how we coexist. :rolleyes: We are a joke and PIT is a prime example of our INABILITY to compete and run an operation.

For some reason reading this gives me an image in my head of Hitler up at a podium pounding his fists down and yelling basic lies to the people in an effort to rally the troops. Doesn't matter if it is the truth....just as long as you have lots of yelling (or in this case CAPS and exclamation points), you can say whatever you want and people will believe you.

You obviously have not been following the story of JETBlUE in PIT have you----

US Chose to make a stand and actually compete with Jetblue in PIT and the result is there is still major local loyalty to US on the NY and Bos flights:

Problem is when you just duck your tail between your legs and run----there is no US to compete with on other routes such as FLL TPA MYR and the list is growing:
