Should I stay or should I go?

You post on a web board looking for life advice from strangers and you say I can't give advice because I don't know you who you are? Are you taking sedatives? You ask for honesty, you got it... now you are offended because I didn't give you the Oprah nuzzle. boohoo. Get over yourself.

You weren't giving advice. You were putting me down and you know it! How dare you say I am not a competent teacher because I like to have "fun" and say poor kids who have me as a teacher. I like honesty just fine, but you weren't giving advice, you were too busy personally attacking me. That is not cool! I don't take sedatives but it really sounds like you need some because you seriously need to chill out. Oh, and BTW, not everyone on here is a stranger. I know many posters on here. Back off dude!

It hasn't occured to some posters on here that a lot of the employees who post here do actually know each other. Some socialize , work or fly together or some just cross paths occasionally but the airline world is really very small. Some of the creepy posters who don't really have any connection to the company at all must think everyone else on here is also completely anonomous to each other... I can look at least 20 or so screen names on here and describe the person in real life.. kinda sad to think of people just typing to and arguing with imaginary people they have no involvement with

You obviously don’t understand what it’s like being a part of a flight crew.

A short time after meeting someone for the first time on a trip, you have a lover and drinking partner for the next few days unless you are a slam-click. It may be a decade or longer until the next time you see them, but they are always part of your extended circle of friends somehow because just a few doses of antibiotics cleared up what they gave you .

i met a hot pilot on the tus flt yesterday who knew who i was. he doesnt post he just lurks.

no one put down flight chic she is my buddy and we'll have to go ninja on you....... i have serious ninja gnome skills.

Oh hahaha that is sooooo funny. NOT! Whatever! I'm seriously a cool teacher because I'm young and fun and hip. But I bet I have more fun on overnights!
  Screw the layovers. Go and teach. You'll have fun and you'll be rewarded three-fold. The airline BIZ will NEVER pay well again. Its going downhill rapidly. Find a good teaching job, get tenure and enjoy your summers off. Best of luck. FYI, I retired after 25 years, got educated will I was flying and LOVE my new life. Never look back- you'll be fine! Peace

Ok, I know I'm going to get flamed for asking total strangers for their opinion but here goes:

I'm a reserve flight attendant. I have no seniority and I'm constantly being jerked around with the reserve system which I hate. I don't really like this job but I don't hate it either. It's just OK. It's low stress. I don't have to take work home with me. I get lots of free time, except for the times when I need to be off the most. Oh, and I never get Christmas or Thanksgiving off so I have to celebrate with my family before the actual holiday, then I get all depressed when I fly on that holiday.

I was offered two teaching jobs. I have to make a decision about whether to take them (and which one which I think I know I just don't know whether I want to quit US) and make it fast, as in today. Should I stay here, which is unstable, and things are only getting worse for us, or should I go back to the real world that is full of stress, but I can also make a living doing what I really enjoy and will be beneficial to my future career goals? I do have fun here sometimes. Teaching jobs will always be there, but if I quit here, that's it. I'm out for good. Is my future worth waiting another year? Ugh! I hate this. I was so fed up with US Airways and I have been saying all year I am quitting and now that it's time for a real decision, I am having second thoughts. My gut instinct says to stay for one more year but I just get so fed up with things here that I just want to leave. I am embarrassed to tell people I work for US Airways but I won't be embarrassed to say I am a teacher. Ugh! I know, nobody can make the decision but me. I just needed to get it out. OK, gotta go think some more. The clock is ticking.

"Should I Stay or Should I Go?"

:p

If you have to ask the question I'm not sure you have the reasoning tools to be a teacher of youngsters.

How do you know she isn’t thinking about becoming an instructor at a truck driving school? You know, travel, meet interesting people, exotic food...

Did you say Hot pilot??? Give us the dirt! Mama
I flew with an F/O yesterday who just came back from furlough. He thought he was hot. I guess he's been gone for awhile because he was clueless. He tried to pick up everyone, and I mean everyone. In the boarding area, he told this one girl to just tell the little blond F/A that the pilot said to upgrade her and have a few drinks on him (the flight was an oversold Florida flight). WTF? I wanted to ask him what planet he's been visiting on his little break.
