RECALL of Council 70 President! Merged Topics

You bet you can. Put it in writing and let Laura know. You can tell her to put your vote to Pat F. or abstain your vote.

Mike and Alin don't have enough experience between them to represent and win an argument for a traffic fine, let alone go on Capital Hill for the entire flight attendant profession.

As I stated before Alin won his DCA Presidency by running unopposed. I believe he had 27 votes in his base, and he was the V.P. under Kenia who resigned and left on the first VFLR.
I know your type very well.

Obviously, you don't have the balls to do anything about it either. Just keep paying your dues and complaining...

You ARE an IDIOT!!

Typical 19-years-of-do-nothing, indeed.

Wow.... Soooooomebody in CLT just went back on Reserve!

Who are you? Please tell us! Please!
Exactly. Probably won't be available to picket because he/she has to catch a commuting flight home. Waaaaaah.

Waaaaaaah My A##...I Would Be There In A Heart Beat To Picket!! I'm In PHL And NO I'm Not On Reserve!!

PHL88,

I venture you are closely related to the the LECP...

Go back to your previous post. You quoted me incorrectly by adding in my quote: "You are an IDIOT".

Are you referencing yourself in that post purposely, or by accident? I didn't post that ignorant comment about you...I just thought it.

You Don't Even Know Who I AM! I have Never Been Part Of The Idiots>>You Included<< Of This MEC Or Past. It's Been Embarrasing To Say I've Been Paying My Dues Each Month For The Last 19 Years To Have Idiots>>Including You<< Represent Us!!

>>>>>MOVE ON<<<<< Your :boring:
If the union has done nothing for you in 19 years, then why bother picketing and being involved? I for one would not support idiots, especially if they have been idiots for 19 years. ;)

Little sensitive are we tonight... B)

Doesn't matter to me how you feel about the union leadership past or present, as long as you see the power in numbers and willing to put your passion for the f/as on the picket line, its what we call solidarity (mission accomplished).

I agree with PITbull. Hopefully personal feelings about the union leadership past and present and previous management can be put aside and we can begin to focus on now and the future.

One contract for all f/a's.
Respect for the profession.
Respect for eachother.

Much Aloha,
Hula

Well I can definitely agree with you, but I do not believe that we are going to get a good contract without having professional negotators and I do not have faith in MF and CA since this has come out regarding 24 & 7 being enforced finally NOT by our union but by the FAA. The union has known about this for 3 years now. This is a disgrace that the union has not been standing up for us. This had nothing to do with protecting the ETB like they are trying to say. So forgive me, but do not have a good feeling with regards to this contract if things do not change with the way the union is representing us.

As I have repeatedly said the issue of 24/7 is an INDUSTRY wide issue; not reserve issue; not ETB issue (which just came about in 2005). 24/7 effects many airlines and NONE of them adhered to the true interpretation of the regulation as they claimed to believe that a 24 hour not on duty but remaining "on call" was 24 hours free from duty.

It could not be one with an arbitrator at ONE particular airline.

You would have had to be invovled with the legal dept and all the arguments to fully understand the broader picture that had to be confronted. The issue has been with the FAA for quite a few years; not just in 2005. It just took that long for them to focus on the absue and act on enforcing the reg. And like with all issues, you need complaints and proof to just make an argument, then you wait sometimes years for the FAA to make a determination on violations of a federal air regulation.

This was not a determination this was a ruling that was addressed, defined, clarified, explicit, and directed by the FAA not recently but 3 years ago. The sad part of this is that our union did not stand up and make sure it was followed to protect the reserves. Instead they sat back and ignored this and put blinders on to this FAR not being followed. Why was our Safety Reps. and our MEC and LEC's not just livid with this being iqnored.

Well, I for one plan on voting which I always do and I bet there are going to be many more voting this time than there has been in the past. You are right, flight attendants need to start voting and standing strong. I used to believe that the union was as strong as its members, but I have come to realize that the union is as strong as the people who are voted into office and the members. Clearly you do not have a strong voice if your elected representives are not standing up for the flight attendants and are on the side of the company instead.

Glad you plan on voting. My concern is that most of the FA's I fly with, BH or RSV, have **NO** clue about the impending recall, or the reasons behind the 24/7 implementation. It's like they are in a fog. Most RSV's are just angry that they cannot load up on ETB trips... Wish people would just understand that we should NNNOOOOTTTT be working our days off to earn a livable wage! Sure, ETB relieved a hardship, but in the long run, do you want to be giving up your days off to be able to survive? How completely insulting!

Try telling some of these people to get out there, call the Union, make their voices heard, and they look at you like you have 4 heads. I will be interested to see how many RSV's take the time to get involved, let alone cast a vote, whenever that may be.... My guess? Not many.

All the ETB trips are being picked up by LA!
Don't expect a phone call back on that anytime soon. She is very busy flying all that time and can't be bothered with pesky Reserves.

First all I would like to say that I am so excited that I have gone from being a newbie to being a member. This board is really fun.
Second, I agree that people do not understand the full issue at hand that is why everyone who is knowledgeable concerning this FAR needs to help educate those who are not as knowledgeable. That way others will be more informed that this is not an ETB issue this is a safety issue and should have been implemented long before ETB was ever put into place. In fact the Implementation of the Reserve Time Balancing System was rushed to be put into place and now it is clearer as to why. The company forced the implementation of this system to go into effect Nov. 2003. The company and AFA's negotating team for a period of 8 days and during that time they were not able to meet an agreement. So the company felt that by delaying the implemention of this system would make it where they would have been unable to meet the projected savings requirement associated with the January agreeement. The union and the company did not reach a mutual agreement. The union allowed the company to implement this and never filed a grievance against the system. This is not what the reserves voted to be put into place. Go back and look at at special interest new item dated jul 21 2003. It was written by S. Groff. So for the union and MF and CA to keep telling us that we voted for this reserve system is not true!! In fact it is BS. So MF you need to do more research on your own and stop believing what CA tells you.
