potential new f/a& customer service uniform pics on "about US"

That tie and scarf in the prototype photos don't even tie into any of our colors. IMO solid colors would be better than those prints. Maybe a choice of red, blue, silver would be ok. I don't like that red shirt for men whether tucked or untucked. It looks like something the guys wore in that movie "A Night At The Roxbury". Looks to much like club clothes from the 90's. That zip jacket for men, well I did buy one of those about 5 years ago. How about a vest? I'm thinking a red or blue fitted vest. How awesome IMO that would look on a f/a. A white/gray shirt, optional tie and a vest. Classy yet casual. There is STILL hope. Oh yeah, that blue checkered shirt that the one girl has on is horrible. I think someone is missing their blanket off their picnic table. YUCK.

I made my first trip in 4 months to the airport today. Those aviator shirts without a tie look like HE!!.! My guess is that about 15% of the agents were wearing a tie. It was the same agents who always looked the best they could(ie:clean and pressed shirts) before tie optional. I came home and looked at the uniform prototypes, again. If US is going to be business casual, a tie should be worn with a button down shirt and polos for those who dont want to wear a tie. The light blue button downs are a bit boring, the ties hideous. I like the red and hawaiian shirts, and the square style jacket.

I hope they get those new uniforms quick!!! Aviators w/out ties are the worst!!!

I agree about the tie, I flew through PHL last week and talk about sloppy. They looked like they just got out of bed and forgot to get dressed. No pride in how they looked and it showed BIG TIME.
I know I posted this site before but for those who have not seen it,take a minute and look at the uniform look of other airlines present and past. I'am sure all one has to do is look and see what a uniform could and should look like. See what your favorites are.

This came from the Union and we were told that the Uniform Committee composed of 14 Gate agents and 4 Flight Attendants. It's obvious that the Ground People wanted the really casual look and they hate wearing the neckware. The F/A committee fought hard to get the outfits that have been posted here because the rest were just horrid.
Here's the response from the Uniform Committe:

Uniform Committee Update

Your AFA Uniform Committee is aware of the disapointment expressed over the new US Airways uniform concept pictures that were posted on AWACompass.com. The Uniform Committee has compiled a list of your feedback/comments that AFA received and submitted them to management. Combined with the feedback the company received from the [email protected] web address, it's clear that management needs to go back to the drawing board. We believe that a re-evaluation of the uniform design concepts is being considered by management and we will keep you informed.

Now I cannot believe that anyone would like that Red shirt that is not tucked in. I know this sounds mean but it looks like something that fat people wear because they cannot tuck in their shirt. That would be absolutely embarrassing to be working with someone in that red shirt just hanging out. Between that and those "walking shorts" we're gonna look like we were just released from a trailer park in Arkansas. Women have a dress or skirt if it's hot, maybe walking shorts looked good in the 80's or 90's but not in '06. I certainly think the tie should be optional and yes I LOVE the idea of business casual but I have to be honest, I maybe a little out there sometimes but one thing I know how to do is DRESS!! I know everyone has different personal styles, however it would be the most humiliating thing to come to work in a TACKY uniform.

Blame the ground uniform committee, I heard there were 14 of them in the steering committee and only 4 f/as which isn't fair.
I think the blue oxford button downs are acceptable for men even without the tie, but I agree that the red shirt is horrid looking. The ground can keep that if they want that, but that doesn't look good on f/as.

Absolutely correct!!!! I agree. I sent in my comments. It cannot be THAT hard to come up with a tasteful uniform that will not be too expensive. Sounds to me like we may have some people lacking in taste and fashion sense. Has anyone seen the zip up sweater thing that Frontier has? Really tasteful and nice, just a black zip up sweater, it has a collar but not fold down (kind of like a mach(sp) turtle neck) and not overwhelming. It has a spot for their wings and says Frontier on it. That cardigan that we have at East was a good thought but looks like Mr. Rogers

Sent in my response yesterday.
If the red and Hawaiian shirts are for inflight only, why would the CS group have any say in it at all?
Personally, I like the CrewGear sweaters minus the epaulets.
The tie is hideous. The grey sweatshirt and jogging suit look are just as bad.
Where is the color? We have a fresh start to make us stand out from the rest of the airlines without having to break the bank by just adding color and a little effort. So far, I dont see either.

I've already posted this in the AFA website and I thought I'd share with the East people.

I've compared some of the potential uniforms with other designer brands and here's what I came up with. I don't like the red shirt and hawaiian shirts. The ground people can keep them. (Maybe for Red Coat agents?)

Anyway, here are the pictures.

I don't think they are all that bad, but I think the female jackets need to change to something similar to this:

I am so tired of hearing about the desert. There are multiple other bases, mostly in four season cities. The world does not revolve around PHX weather. They already changed the best paintjob in the world to a joke, now fo we have to wear sandals and T-shirts because of "the desert?"

Do you think United's LAS beased flight attendants tell the Chicago and New York and Frankfurt and Tokyo based FAs that the desert is too hot for a scarf, or a colored plane?

IT"S PHOENIX. IT"S NOT MARS. We've all been there. Yes, it's hot, but the airline can not be built around the fact thatsome people choose to live in a desert.

B#$%h Slap!

Well I do not want to get too graphic, but plain front pants are too revealing on me, (around the zipper if you know what I mean)they fit just fine but I'd prefer to be revealing after hours at my second job!! B)

In that case, stick with plain front

More like....

Camryn Manheim
Lane Bryant
Delta Burke

*duck* Just kidding....

ROFLMFAO!!!

What were they thinking? These look worse then JCPenny's or Sear's stuff. How about khaki dockers and some heritage logo polo shirts, with a smile below the logo.

Our smiles aren't just painted on. Catch US. Catch our Smiles.

The current ideas just plain....YUK !!!

Hey! I shop at JcPenny and Sears, but this uniforms I think were inspired from Banana Republic and Jcrew.

Khaki dockers and polo shirts? Please! That is too Southwest Airlines! Why copy them?

I vote for the following uniforms below.
