potential new f/a& customer service uniform pics on "about US"

OMG! Did I detect a "skort" in the line up?

What's that email address again? Quickly!!

USAIRWAYS DECISION MAKERS ...Everything l am looking at for your frontline employees seems to be ill fitting and generic. This seems to be typical for a company that never considered the appearance of the employees and how the customers would percieve them.
The "no tie" decision that is showing up in PHL is a disgrace. How would you feel about a guy checking you in for your First Class flight to Europe and you are looking at his chest hair pouring out of his un-ironed dingy shirt? Would you be impressed? This equals...a second look at airlines the next time I travel.
Get the PROFFESSIONAL LOOK BACK! Why "dumb down" every part of the employee/passenger enviroment? That pig sty the employees have to work in PHL is bad enough. At the least make the employees look like they know their job and can be proud to go to work. If they feel good about how they look maybe they will feel better about going the extra mile. That will benefit everyone...got it? B)

I am praying the suits were just not ironed? They looked puckered and poorly tailored. Looks like really bad material too.

The skirt, oh dear, where to begin? Every woman has a lenght that is most becoming. As a general rule, mid-knee is it. but those of us who are shorter or have heavier legs need a bit more leeway. Or so I'm told at Hooters.

I liked the suit dress. A bit of color at the neck was nice. I would have preferred a little less fuss with a scarf and a nice piping instead.

I still perfer a good pricess-cut for most figures.

But my God, that "skort"! Who's idea was that and when can we line him/her onto the tarmac to throw eggs at?

According to the Uniform Committee those pictures are only samples and prototypes. I agree, I would like to see better fabric. The Committee said the styles were portrayed were NOT the finished projects, striping, colors, logos etc were not included in the prototypes. They also said that we have to take into consideration to a few design flaws from the selected vendor. They used the wrong fabrics which made the jacket hang incorrectly...some cuts were improper giving the wrong style in their prototype. They said this is not the finished product.

The mens zip jacket was a claiborne jacket..very stylish similar to a banana republic coat jacket. They copied this design from them. Many of these pieces are replicated from Major designers looks right off the rack.

The F/A Uniform committee said that there were 4 F/As and 14 Ground CSRs in the Uniform Steering Committee and the voices of the Flight Attendants were lost in translation because the CSRs dominated which I think is plain wrong.

Please! Please! Please!

Do not vote for the T-shirts or the Red shirts. They don't look attractive.

Here are the ones that have potential.

Well it it obvious that you want to dress up and that is fine, but for us domestic divas who just want to be comfortable, let us have our casual look. As was told to the f/a's from the union, the pieces were not sized appropriately and some material may be different. AGAIN, PLEASE READ AGAIN...They were not fitted appropriately so you have to use some imagination.

BUT, the issue is dress up vs. casual. There was no t shirt. There was a grey knit shirt that was oversized on the model that I frankly liked. I LOVED the red shirt. It can be worn out and if tailored correctly, will look sharp. For those that do not want us to go casual, you need to get over it as it has been set in stone that we are going biz casual, so fighting anything except a suit will fall on deaf ears. A formal suit is NOT business casual and is only being offered because of transatlantic.

If you want to talk about what DIDN'T look good, it was that circa 1973 tie that somene dragged out of grandpa closet.

As for the sloppy look of some agents without the tie, please, that decision WAS a mistake but it was because Tempe doesn't realize how CHEAP those aviator shirts are. They are as thin as paper and a memo could go out to actually require a tshirt. The better quaility dress shirts presented are made to wear without a tie as one can see in the pics and the casual shirts speak for themselves.

My friend, if you want to schlep around a hot 737 in August with your new suite with circa 1973 tie, sweating like a pig on a PBI-PHL-MCO-PHL run, have at it. I'll be standing back laughing at your foolish pride as I wear my comfotable TAILORED red shirt (w undershirt)and dark grey pants that keep me looking sharp and as hot as I am.

It's called options and it is in how one wears anything that determines if they look good or not.

I for one wrote and gave my approval and recommended changes for the uniform and it included KEEPING the red shirt AND your idea of a t shirt.

I also noted that ALL of these clothes need to be tailored, whether the suits or the red shirts.

LCC #1,

You obviously have no style. That red shirt and that grey shirt look like it's from Walmart. Sorry, but if you want to look like a Walmart Greeter you can wear that uniform. I think it's "FUGLY" and red/grey don't look on some people.

The tie is a prototype and it's not going to be that style.

LCC-STEW

You've got to be joking!! If the shirts look like they came from Walmart, the pieces you like are a tad bit better at K-Mart.

And while we're at it, EVERYTHING is a prototype, INCLUDING the shirt and "tshirt" you hate. How do YOU know that the tie will be different anymore than if the shirts you hate will be different.

The pictures ARE protoytpes, giving different looks. Because some of us actually HAVE style and IMAGINATION, we get the vision. Yes, improvements need to be made but it is the CONCEPT of a casual option that I like.

Yeah, classy.... :boring: but you thought the light jacket looked good with the tie?

Paging, Goober Pyle, the fashion police are calling.

[I don't know where to begin, The more I see of these uniforms they only get worse.
No style no imagination at ALL.
And everything I saw I dont even think would sell at Walmart.
This is Airways chance to make an impression and they are blowing it big time.
Years ago uniforms were changed every two years, now they seem to stay forever. Before it,s to late. Go back to the drawing board and start over again. Whats the big rush, do it right. And the Business Casual doesn't mean T-Shirts either.

Don't worry, its not a "skort". It looks to be the exact walking shorts that Westies have been wearing for years.
They are comfortable and look very nice.
I always wear them in the summer.
If you choose to wear the polo option, it would go very nice w/the shorts.

And, yes, some of the items displayed were not able to be ironed properly, and, AGAIN, they are prototypes. Colors, cut, and details are not finished.
Some are obviously not the right size for the model.

I am concerned with the female jacket. It is designed to be longer than what we are used to, and I'm not sure if thats actually flattering. Plus, females don't get the option of a professional style blazer.

I predict lots of out-of-pocket $$ for tailoring.

EXACTLY!!

Everyone is in a huff over all the pieces they dislike, but when it comes down to it, we stews will have to get them professionally tailored if we want ANY of them to look nice.

I am not jumping over buildings full of excitement, but I do see the POTENTIAL in all of the pieces. Those that want more formal will talk up the suits and dresses. Those who want casual will talk up the shirts. That's pretty evident in the post here.

Most importantly, I am anxious to see everything in person so I can see and feel the materials. Pictures tell me nothing.

FYI, one of our West uniform reps said the pants will be available in both flat or pleats, so that is something that should please everyone!
YIPPEE!

Those red and grey shirts are just down right ugly....I hope they do not approve those...They look terrible. Why would anyone want to even wear one? sorry, but that is not even business casual..
And those blazers for the women......Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are too long and just ugly!!!! This is a mean joke the uniform commity is playing on us , right? This is awful.

What am I voting for when this survey comes out?...for the prototype?...will we vote again when the final uniform is completed??...if we,re voting for the colors, tie or no tie, possible style, then thats ok, but please, Uniform Comm. that we vote again on the final pieces. How could you present pieces without them be tailored on the models?...how can I vote when I can't even feel the material, or see them...I hope this vote is just a preliminary survey and than we vote again on the final product.
TIES should be optional...when did a tie make a man a professional....how many men now wear ties on Wall ST. or even in first class when on business trips...a uniform should look clean, professional and comfortable, looking at pictures on untailored uniforms doesn't tell me much....and yes, separate the inflight and ground uniforms....
