Planned Pilot sick-out on Friday

The only place I've heard of a sickout is on this board. One more ridiculous thing from USAPA blaming west to deflect any blame that might come their way.

You guys are really bothered with USAPA, wonder why?

I think its ALPA trying its best to discredit USAPA. To no avail I might add. USAPA really does not want to see this action come to fruition as it serves no purpose to further the goals of seeking an election.

So are you saying AWA guys are in the east crew rooms handing out fliers on the sick out???  AWA guys do not have to even try to discredit USALPA they do it themselves  . This is an East thing...let's sit back and watch it fail. :jerry:

You are really reaching now. We discredit ourselves? In what way? I really think the ALPA boys in Herndon are now even more concerned than ever.

as much as i respect our pilots in the east, i doubt that any sickout will occur. unfortunatlely they have no backbone. they lost retirement, pension, and their seniority and yet it takes them this long to do a sick out? if this happened to the east f/a group we would have shut this airline down asap . so as much as i hope that they do do a sick out on the 21st, i think that it won't happen. i hope they do because i am on the bid sheet for the 20th and i would be love to be stuck in europe an extra day. but all jokes aside , i just can't see this happening. i hope i get proven wrong.

Sickout? What a bunch of BS. I have been working most of this week and I have not heard a thing. No one in ALPA in the West has said anything about this. Our SPC would be the first to pass the word if we were doing anything. This is just more whining from the people who don't have a clue.. Hey, here's an idea, how about we both show up for negotiations and negotiate a joint contract.

How about we respect the concepts of longevity and tenure like every other organized profession? Oh yeah, we are "white collar and an association." I am glad that has gotten this profession a long way but let's keep at failed practices and hope for the best. I am sorry some can't understand seniority isn't for sell because its permanent, whilst raises and contracts are here today and gone tomorrow.

The purpose of a "sickout" or wildcat strike is to get the company's attention when you have a grievance with the company. The pilots have a beef with ALPA, so why are you trying to make your point with the company? You will cost the company money which is your motivation and you will put our passengers in our competitor's seats AND piss off the rest of your fellow employees who have to clean up the mess you create. I don't get it. We support you now, but after tomorrow, you may well be on your own island surrounded by sharks.

Because some the junior pukes on the west think they are entitled to everything and wrap it in the word fair.
