Subject: SICK CALLS

We are starting to experience an abnormally high number of sick calls for both today September 20th and already for tomorrow September 21st. The company has been made well aware of the proposed pilot actions scheduled for September 21st and will take any intentional disruptions to our flight schedule very seriously. Therefore, we have no choice but to ask that medical documentation be provided to your Chief Pilot for all sick calls effective immediately through September 21st.

Captain Lyle Hogg
Managing Director Flight Operations

Congratulations. It is against policy to post internal company correspondence. But as noted earlier, there is no large number of sick calls (at least not in the East. How is West manning look?).

...

Folks, I just have a real bad "Gut" reaction to this one. Can't figure out why, but I do ...

If Junebug is correct that the EC conspired to vote today to pass the Nic list to the company, then you now have your reason that ALPA has been fabricating a "USAPA" sickout tomorrow.

I hope Junebug is correct about what ALPA has done. It lives up to every expectation we have of them.

There are rumors and evidence in the form of posters and some mailbox stuffing in Philadelphia, advocating a pilot sick out Tomorrow, Friday Sept. 21st.

These unsubstantiated rumors and posters have been attributed to USAPA.

USAPA does not condone or support any clearly illegal job action by US Airways pilots. USAPA is not the bargaining agent for pilots at US Airways and we clearly would not advocate such an illegal action by way of posters and written material stuffed into mailboxes with our web site url prominently displayed on it. USAPA does not condone such action in any way shape or form and urge all US Airways pilots who are scheduled to work tomorrow to report for work as scheduled.

USAPA urges all US Airways pilots to visit the web site at www.usairlinepilots.org for the offical statement on this matter.

It appeared to be a fabrication by ALPA supporters from the beinning.

There are rumors that the ALPA EC is passing the Nic list to the company. (Even ALPA would recognize that many pilots would react to the list being passed. If it is true that the ALPA EC has voted to pass the list, then how convenient for ALPA supporteres to fabricate a sickout plan by the opposition?)

If anyone should be charged with the 21 sick out it is ALPA .I went to the meeting dressed as the Grim Reaper and throughout the room they were saying 21 and Prather was there . You damm liars ALPA you are the worms that crawl into the coffin and I hope for the industrys sake you are all put into JAIL OR Hell. You had no problem living it up at your concrete cathedral.

 WOW I would hate to see what happens when you're really mad.

It's a conspiracy, NOT. You guys give yourself too much credit.

The word at the airport at 2000 tonight was 90 pilot call offs already for tomorrow.

No idea what the normal number of call offs is..

If Prater and Parker had paid $100K to a couple guidos they couldn't have come up with a better plan to supress a sickout following the delivery of the Nic.

There never was a plan to get sick on the 21st. No one will get sick. Patiently wait for the election day.

The whole EAST should be sick over the EC decision. JP will preside over the demise of ALPO !!

While I support the employees and agree that things are not right between management and labor, an action such as this will only hasten the demise of the company, or its breakup.

If that is the ultimate goal, on you go......

I won't even venture a guess as to whether it is legal or not, but again, you will hurt the customers and fellow employees much worse than you will management.

My BEST to you all....

Arriving late and inconveniencing the pax is the only way to get MGT's attention. So Sorry ,, its only for a day or 2. Like Southwest says " employees come FIRST " EMPLOYEES COME FIRST!!!!!!
