P. REZ,
Will the NC stay strong on getting US a CBA before entering JCBA talks or any cross utilization/helping hands agreement?

Josh
I wish everybody could at some point in their career be a part of the negotiating process. Until you are, it is hard to understand how things happen the way they do.

To answer your question, hell yes. This is a focused strong group at US.

Let me guess, you would use your leverage building techniques to get the Company to allow fleet to be the only group working an all express operation?
Build strong enough scope language, and that won't ever be an issue. D*ck around with drop dead dates and flight thresholds, and everyone will be on the street before the "all express" discussion even has a chance to happen.

I don't see where he's bringing politics in to it. It's an undeniable fact that people like Bartz ,Klemm and lehive sold the UA members a pig in a poke.
How do we know the same thing won't happen here at some point.
Ad I'm not talking about you Prez or CB doing it but others.

Yet DL has more stations staffed with DL employees on the ramp and none of that.

cltrat,

I do think that TN plays politics and wish that if he had some idea he would discuss with someone if he thinks it will help the membership. I will listen to him.

...And not a single thing in the way of closing every last one of 'em tomorrow, either...
And what percentage are part time or ready reserve in each station?

Tim,

Always political now aren't you? If the pilots give up flying to express what happens? Flight Attendants don't fly, mtc doesn't fix, etc. It is a trickle down effect. If city A has zero mainline because of this then what? Let me guess, you would use your leverage building techniques to get the Company to allow fleet to be the only group working an all express operation? If you ever want to discuss the truth of the matter and leave the politics alone, contact me.
Nothing political about it. Dont forget, you engaged me and asked me the questions. My only advice or imput i know to encourage you with is to stick to your guns of what you and others have said on here. A release or not, and single carrier or not, stick to what our focus is said to be. Nothing is going to come easy so panic mode shouldnt be an option.
We cant control management but we can control our actions.

The threat of a union organizing. DL won't make it easy for a union to come in and take over. Again, how many stations have closed since the IAM decertification? Maybe just one? UA recently closed six stations even under the old scope, no one is immune. Again DL has more mainline ramps than AA, UA, and US.

That "threat" gets smaller everytime something like UA's latest T/A gets ratified...

P.S. "Come in and take over?"
So you do agree the pathetic UA CBA will be a hindrance to the DL and other future drives...

I mean if the IAM takes control and poisons relations among DL and their employees and makes it uneconomical for DL to keep many mainline stations.

I look for united to be at around 80% part time in a couple years, sorta like ups. That doesnt include the ready reserve in the ua contract that is named "temp agent'. The temp agents can work a consecutive run of 5 months and arent considered active nor do they accrue seniority although they can get 8 hours a day anx are forced to pay dues. I would imagine that dl management has something to point at.

Tim, unlike Hawaiian there is no restriction on part-time, so nothing is stopping UA from cutting back highly seasonal stations and only hiring for the peak season, right? Are temps charged IAM initiation fee?

It makes an already uphill climb that much tougher. Luckily, DL mgmt. continues to do their part to drive A card signings...

"Takes control?"

"Poisons relations?"

What's with the bait today?
