Our members have had difficult times over the years but it is not an IAM thing. Just look everywhere and Unions have been being attacked by Corporate America. It's not like every Union worker in the U.S. has been getting big pay raises except for IAM members. This has been and will continue to be an attack on Unions until we all come up with a game plan to reverse the trends.

You are correct. organized labor in this country is under attack. It is why we continue to witness the middle class in this country evaporating. Not sure there is a game plan that will turn it around for everyone. We can only focus on the batte in front of us at the negotiating table and how it pertains to the potential billion dollar merger between AA and US. The strategy is simple; STAND YOUR GROUND. Stay in Section 6 and demand meaningful contracts for the IAM represented at US before entertaining transition agreements and filing for single carrier status. It's a game plan that the majority of the members support, understand, can rally around and expect from their respective negotiating committees. I strongly suggest the IAM and the respective negotiating committees do not deviate from this stance and strategy.
