Tim,

Our members have had difficult times over the years but it is not an IAM thing. Just look everywhere and Unions have been being attacked by Corporate America. It's not like every Union worker in the U.S. has been getting big pay raises except for IAM members. This has been and will continue to be an attack on Unions until we all come up with a game plan to reverse the trends.

Rez, what a cop out. This union has failed the members because of weak leadership.
Not once has anyone at the district level promoted a safe operation. If you don't send a message to management, then negotiations are fruitless. You sound as if it is over, that this is the best you guy's can do. Yes unionization is under attack, but we still have our little war going on in the bottom left hand corner of the big picture. Grow some balls.

Not sure what the guys at the table are eating but there are two big stacks of paper plates, but the one stack seems to have been depleted. And it looks like folks are picking over the food in the foreground as another bites into the free food in the chair.  Probably a mixed bag where some ate and some didn't.

At any rate, I'm surprised subs only. At AMR in ORD, it is almost always hot Italian beef, often burgers, etc.  Half arse subs and finger foods with cheap cookies and a few pickles is all I see in the pic.

Chill out, my comment has nothing to do with our negotiations. I am simply pointing out to TN that the IAM isn't the only union being attacked out there by Corporate America. We as Union members across this country have and will continue to be attacked and that is what my comment is about. TN acts as if IAM is the only problem out there and that the bigger picture of Corporate America attacking Unions is a minor issue. There does need to be a change in strategy by the big Unions or we will all be gone as time does by. Statistics on the decline of Union membership in this Country are disturbing.

As for us getting a contract, I do think we will be successful and have never been in doubt.

Rez....May i make a suggestion? It may sound trivial but will get a point across on how the company may perceive you.

I remember a Negotiator friend told me once at PSA that when the company wouldn't budge from a couple things,  things we needed? The whole negotiation team stood up and negotiated with the company standing. The company giggled a little and said that was ridiculous and said " what does this prove"? And Bill R. said. " it says that the whole union is  negotiating, not just the people sitting in front of you." ?

It won't change anything maybe but it will certainly show that (you and we ) are willing to "stand" for what we believe is due us!
They did it twice in the negotiating process. AH was a Manager at the time and not a negotiator for the company, but he would probably remember that as it was reiterated around the inner circles of management back then. Hell he may have been a ramper back then and remembers it.

Hemenway doesnt care, he is a POS, during our Chapter 11 M&R Negotiations I always called him NVA, as he always that "no value added".

Believe he is under pressure this time as he doesn't have a BK judge looking over his shoulder. Could care less about what he thinks really. Its a solidarity point is all.

He has no pressure, US isnt in chapter 11 and hasnt been since 2005.

They have been negotiating for almost three years, he doesnt care, I have been dealing with him for over 20 years, since he was my regional manager when I worked Air Cargo in TPA before transferring into MTC.

And he is in charge of labor relations, so unless you tear the place down, you wont get a CBA, it has always been that way in the 20 years I was there.

I have never served on th NC, but have known a few that have. If I am correct, I believe we gave them our best and final offer, and also asked to be released from the talks.
We were invited back for these last talks and I assume it was because the company needed too, to prove they are not the bad guy's. I suggest, when you guy's meet in Jan., the lead negotiator, pass AH our proposal. Tell him to shove his pizza and icecream up his arse and also let him know he can shove his ot performance up his arse and then walk out of the meeting. Going to these meeting and feeling humbled to be there is just plain bullshit.

Maybe it was you?...you ever considered that?

No, there hasnt been a best and final offer, both groups have asked to be released, both groups have negotiated several times after that request has been made, so if a final and best offer has taken place, and no further room for improvements the IAM would be saying that and request to be released again and put on the public pressure.

Maybe it was me? lol

Were you in the room?

He did that to all of us, Tom Regan, Tom Belmont, Bill Freiberger, Frank Shifano, Bill O'Driscoll, Bill Hoogenout, Joe Adolnifi, and Tony Giammarco.  And to our actuaries also.

Gotta love that company letter.... donkey parker says the real work begins now that the merger has closed.... they purposely have failed and they continue to purposely screw the iam big time. Its high flying time that the nmb idiots release both 141 and 142 or those lazy arse donkey idiots from tempe get out of their stalls and get us contracts now jcba later if they expect a seamless merger

Great statement by the iam today re-emphasizing that nothing is going to come together until contracts are signed for usair people. Hopefully that means no metal cross fleeting as iam 141 submitted to at united.

Very good firm release by the iam today.

Tim do you think this is a positive sign that Delaney & Co are learning from their missteps at UA or is it too early to tell? My understanding is UA has long been in the driver seat of 141 and US was always on the back burner. Hopefully they won't cave on you guys.
