Thanks Robbed
Eventually the company is going to want to start combining operations, so they can realize the wonderful synergies that Parker promised the creditors. So while I can't tell you when, the company is going to have to come around sometime, or I say, let's just keep the operations seperate. No synergies for the creditors from fleet service.

A line that has been drawn by the NC many months ago. No contract first. No Transition Agreement talks until then. Subsequently, no synergies realized by the company or creditors, among the Fleet Service group. Based on the current posture of the company in negotiations... they continue to act like a child who has been told no. Eventually they will stop pouting and come to the table negotiating in good faith. Something they haven't had to do since 1999.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has called on various state congressional delegations to press US Airways to settle its contract dispute with IAM members at the carrier.

The IAM has been in negotiations for the mechanic and related, maintenance training specialist, fleet service and stockroom employees for almost three years. During that time, US Airways has spent the majority of its time and resources with its merger with American Airlines and negotiating terms with American's unions to garner their support for the merger.

"All my constituents want is what is fair, which is an equitable contract and salaries on par with their new co-workers," said Representative Yvette Clarke D-NY. "I urge you to bring a swift conclusion to these negotiations and to resolve this situation in a fair and equitable manner."

"IAM members have been instrumental in building US Airways into the dynamic company it is today," said Representatives Brady, Doyle, Schwartz, Cartwright and Fattah from Pennsylvania. "They seek only to have an equitable contract as you move forward."

Pretty bad when even politicians view the company's agenda and posture in negotiations as inappropriate. it doesn't speak well for the company's regard for their employees. I can't speak for everyone in the MTC. & Related group or Fleet but I'm feeling insulted and unappreciated by this company leadership. They can stick their "Triple Play" program. It doesn't cover the cost of two aisles in a grocery store. I need a fair and equitible contract.

It is all well and good to expect what our counterparts are achieving from "The New American", ( our ) employer Usairways, but lets not forget what we have given up in yrs past. By yrs, i don't mean the US HP merger. Sacrifices started long before that. At the Least we should be getting back what our above wing employees have gotten.......

Lol !!!!!!

Local 1487 had their Local Officer elections yesterday and for the first time in 6 years they cleaned house. Those loyal to delaney not on the opposition ballot got voted out. Most united airline members are fed up of delaneys dopes and the cleansing has started.

Twu employee is reporting that the iam and twu met before thanksgiving and jointly agreed to approach management with a side agreement that asks management to hire laid off amr workers over new hires at usairways. On the face of it, this would appear fair, however more may be at stake that would make this a "no go" with me.
Remember, last time the iam did this, management wanted something in return to make the last merger more "seamless". Thus the creation of the helping hand agreement.

To be sure, i believe our negotiation team needs to pressure delaney (and it can if it chooses to) not to support any measure that reduces our overall leverage by bringing the merger closer without an equitable contract first.

Helping hand agreements are scandals that cant be policed. Plus if grievances are filed under helping hands the grievances usually go into limbo rendering the enforcement of helping hands impractical.

Time will tell if our union compromises the leverage on this once again.

Kev this is the IAM-they will act in the interest of the union and maximizing dues, not putting the membership first. We have seen this time and time again this is nothing new.

There have been no sacrifices by your grand lodge and district lodge cronies, they have been celebrating and enjoying pay increases, union vehicles, union apartments for years on the backs of the membership. And you have people like Robert Roach and Sito Pantoja from TWA at the Grand Lodge slurping $250k salaries and facilitating the downward spiral. Is Roach even in physical condition to work on the ramp and in the pit of an aircraft? Guessing not, but he repeatedly says he understands what it is to be a member yet he hasn't walked in those shoes for 20+ years as the union has been his career. When did Sito last work on a TWA aircraft?

Josh

josh  probably the last time twa was actually flying as an airline....
our negog team is standing strong     we have the more leverage now as the company cannot say they cant negog as a nbr 5 carrier...   theyre just stallin as much as possible  but the union can hold back on the scs and make things lit more difficult for a seamless merger....   delays have started already  with broken planes taking longer than usual to get repaired....  so if dp and gang want a seamless merger they need to get their tails out from btwn their legs and they need to walk out of their dirty stalls and negog now for a fair and equitable contracts...   lock n loaded

Wrong, when we took concessions at US the m&r reps took concessions also.

Also back in the day when UA took concessions the reps at US and UA took concessions.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

The Grand Lodge reps are unionized and have a CBA that they are covered under.

Hopefully you are right robbed. These donkeys need to negotiate but the IAM makes it far too easy for the company to ignore and blow them off.

Josh

Blow them off?

Do you understand that US nor the IAM controls the process?

The NMB and the mediator are in control, they schedule the talks and make the decision if the talks are at an impasse or not.
