I agree with you.  Members who don't bother to vote hurt us just as much as those who vote yes for anything that comes down the pike.  These are the same who tell you they hate the TWU but won't sign a card to get rid of them.  We are held hostage by these people.
That is known as fear....

TWU-IAM Fleet Service Negotiating Committee Update

September 11, 2015

The TWU-IAM Association Fleet Service Negotiating Committee met this week in Dallas to continue writing and reconciling contract language.

We are closely examining every article and section of the agreements. As anticipated, this is a challenging process but we are united in our efforts to ensure an industry leading contract for all TWU-IAM Association members at American Airlines.

As we await the Company’s initial proposals, all Negotiating Committees will meet again the week of September 28th in Chicago. All members will be advised of future scheduled meetings.

We thank all members for their patience and continued solidarity.

In solidarity,

Is this a form letter they send out every couple of weeks just changing the date and the city? One thing I do know if fleet tops out at $26.55 it wont be anything they negotiated

Well you dont know, Fleet's top out with the raise is $24.39 this month.
Im  talking about the new contract the 7% above DL the company has offered, The raise  the union is going to try to take credit for

You dont know that to be a fact, DL might get a raise before a JCBA is achieved.

CWA  and AA have ageed to 30 of 34  items towars a new contract and Parker said at a town hall that fleet would be less complicated to negotiate. We got to get to the table  at this rate we probably wont start until the new year

That is why the JCBA should have a YEARLY average adjustment rather than 3 years. Delta will always leapfrog us.

At a minimum we should keep up with the economy, COL raises built into the JCBA even after the amendable date so AA can't just impose a pay freeze by dragging negotiations out for yrs.

You get what you are willing to accept. So far in my 18 yrs at AA the TWU membership doesnot expect much.

I agree. But the TWU has never demanded COLA, let alone demanded anything.. They "ask."

Exactly, and the membership is ok with that..

The TWU Local and Intl reps work with AA rather than working for US. "They can do that Brother"

They didn't insure the correct language was in the CBA to protect us. We on the other hand don't get involved by reading or demanding to know what's being negotiated. The TWU reps sign a letter stating they won't tell us with AA. But we pay them with the dues we are forced to pay.

Retro should also be a sticking point but as long as we get a slice of Pizza and a drink we are good to go.

The company might match Quick Trip, but never Southwest.

Sadly you are correct, under the Little-Videtich -Gless regime we were told "They (the mechanics) really need to reduce their expectations"-Gless, "We need to put this contract stuff behind us and do what is best for American Airlines-Conley, and "Fuel went up another 2 cents a gallon, that's x millions more AA has to pay"-Videtich.

At the end of the day as long as their Metal is Moving it doesn't really matter whether the Union leadership is in the company's pocket or not, ask or demand, the company isn't going to move unless the membership collectively makes them move.

You are union leadership for quite a while I think but you blame verybody else.
Are you as a leader saying we need to slow down until we get what we think we deserve.
tell us Bobowens.
