AANOTOK said:That question was asked of our reps, and we we told since US still workers under a different contract, that is what they use for the formula. Doesn't matter that the airline itself doesn't exist anymore, the contract in which the average is formulated still does and it WILL be used. Just what we were told!

I WILL take the money and vote yes to more, in a deliberate, instinctual attempt of self preservation. Spare me the negative condensations, because it is the betterment of me is all that matters.

You are correct. It doesnt say an average of Delta, UAL and the IAM. These guys are AA mechanics represented by the IAM and nothing more.Overspeed said:I spoke to the reps here and told them to read the langauge. It says the, "...average of the comparator airlines." It does not say average of the contracts at other airlines in the group. The question still stands, does US exist? The NMB says no, the FAA says no, and the NASDAQ says no. So why was an airline that does not exist included in the average? It benefits both IAM and TWU members to NOT have US included in the formula. It would change the increase to be almost $1.30 an hour more than what is stated in the letter. Why is our union fighting for the Company?
Your question is valid and one we should all be asking, unless of course you're bob@las, he has future TWU VP written all over him.Overspeed said:I spoke to the reps here and told them to read the langauge. I've said it before, there are some troubling things with the way the Ass came into being without a membership vote, and those things are starting to show, or starting to smell a bit more.
If the company would have disputed the NMB application by the Association, there would have been a membership vote for representation.
The company played ball with the union, so now, in my view, you are starting to see the union play ball with the company,
And,
I expect it to continue into the coming JCBA,
If it all turns out great, we all get e huge raise AND get to keep our jobs , I'll come back on here and say I was wrong about the Ass.
We will see, right now, the Association couldn't be negotiating a contract at any better time In anybody's lifetime. AA will likely report profits approaching 4 billion for the 3rd Qtr with the price of oil collapsing and airplane loads at record levels.
Broken record...another who can't lose....1AA said:With asinine comments like these it is no surprise we continue on the current path of union representation by the two worst industrial catch all unions.

Maybe they'll will get you a new color instead of that lime green vest. That should make you even happier.

I get there are IGM'ers but the fact is he didn't get his. He got less than his. By the Association agreeing to include US (an airline that doesn't exist) the IAM and TWU members across the board - all represented groups got less than they should have. Bob@las should be pissed because his union had langauge in place that would put more in his wallet. How can he not see that?
