This company doesn't want to give you anything. Just by them including LUS in the average says it all. They do these ridiculous road shows tell you absolutely nothing stroke everyone in the room what a joke. Everything up until this point was about becoming one Carrier except when it comes to putting money in your pocket. I don't know who is more fill of sit the twu or the company.....

I agree. I have been telling guys to expect nothing of any value. The company waves the dollars in our face but then tells you need a contract in place to get it. No word of retro. Unions wasted our money with the rediculous creation of the association. We had solid language on the prefunding match and here we are still waiting for a decision. The union took our 14% company equity and still waiting on that issue to be finalized. The complex merging of both unions and their respective work rules will take some time to merge into one. Until then the association is not able to present a proposal to the conpany. How long will that process take? I can't believe how naive my fellow workers are thinking we would have a contract soon and more money in our pockets. Next month's mid term wage adjustment will more than likely follow another disappointment by the TWU. Don't expect that pot of gold waiting for you at the front door. The company is making more money than it ever did and the union is collecting dues. Business as usual. Did you really think the association was a new beginning? We are all being taken for fools again. This time you have a new name on the union door and a new leader in Centrepork.

If it is and continues to be the company's position to include LUS in the averaging formula I hope that there is a Presidential grievance prepared to go the day after it's implemented?

If the language in the contract didn't have (Or their successors) we probably wouldn't have a leg to stand on? But to me by that language currently a certain carrier technically doesn't exist anymore.

In the end it's all about the "Intent" of the language? So what is or was the intention?

You are talking about the TWU, right? Presidential grievance in support of the members? That's like mixing oil and water.

Wow that's a surprising comment coming from you. NOT!!!!!

Go AMFA :(

I call it as I have experienced being in the twu for 30 years in the M&E group. Have you been in the TWU for 30 years at AA in the M&E group? Fleet always faired better than us. We beat that drum before. It's just the same old union with a fresh paint job.

That question was asked of our reps, and we we told since US still workers under a different contract, that is what they use for the formula. Doesn't matter that the airline itself doesn't exist anymore, the contract in which the average is formulated still does and it WILL be used. Just what we were told!

And some people in the Union agree with that language and it's interpretation and others don't. In the end the TWU and IAM both have legal departments and services that I'm sure have already advised them exactly where it stands.

And it's a waste of time , energy and our money to chase that issue.
Just get us retro pay back to the beginning of the year, done.

TWU-IAM Association Stand-Alone Contracts Trigger Wage Hikes as Negotiators Prepare to Achieve More in Upcoming Joint Contract Negotiations

August 11, 2015

In yet another example of the TWU-IAM Association’s combined power and strategically negotiated pre-merger, stand-alone contracts, Association represented Mechanic and Related, Fleet Service and Stores workers will receive top-of-scale wage increases of between approximately three percent to almost 10 percent, depending on work classification and pre-merger carrier employment in mid-September.

“When the TWU-IAM Association formed after the merger of American and US Airways, the guiding principle was to ensure members at the ‘New American Airlines’ were treated fairly considering their prior sacrifices in creating the largest global carrier,” said Sito Pantoja and Harry Lombardo, Association Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. “These deserved wage hikes are an example of this philosophy, and we aren’t stopping here. Your Negotiating Committees continued the contract reconciliation process last week in Chicago and will be back at the table in short order to fight for further deserved wage increases among other improvements."

Both Legacy American (LAA) and Legacy US Airways (LUS) stand-alone contracts mandate “industry comparable wage rate adjustments” so that both LAA and LUS Association members’ wages never become “industry-trailing” while in joint contract negotiations.

In mid-September, Aircraft Mechanics will earn a top-of-scale “all in” rate of $38.71, Fleet Service employees’ top-of-scale rate increases to $24.39 (Crew Chief/Lead premium not included) and Stores workers will earn $25.34 at top-of-scale. Maintenance Control Technicians, part of the Mechanic and Related class and craft, will surpass $46 per hour at top-of-scale, and those rates will rise while in joint contract negotiations.

“Association members’ will continue to receive wage increases while in negotiations for a joint contract,” continued Pantoja and Lombardo. “This is critical wage protection as there are many other issues that need to be resolved in joint contract negotiations. Each stand-alone contract ensures that Association members’ wages will not fall behind the industry as we fight for other equally important aspects of compensation, such as healthcare and pension benefits, job-security and work-rule improvements."

Blah, blah, blah!

Who's this Sito Pantoja fella?

Did we at the TWU, and I mean dues paying members, show interest in him representing us?

Sito Pantoja is the General Vice President of Transportation for the IAM.

He is an A&P.
