On the AA side (Fleet) we still maintain the place holder language with the 1, 2 and 3 cents. UAL has it, SWA has it and Delta provides it. The average is .50 cents.

Shift differential is industry standard and IMO we should get it back as well?

In continuing the process to initiate joint contract bargaining with American Airlines, your TWU-IAM Association Negotiating Committees have scheduled meetings the weeks of July 27th and August 3rd in Chicago, Illinois.

The Negotiating Committees will continue the “reconciliation process.” “Reconciliation” simply means that the committees examine contractual language—article by article—analyze the provisions and identify the best aspects of each collective bargaining agreement. Your negotiators will then “reconcile” the language of each existing contract and compose new provisions for the joint agreement that reflect membership proposals.

This important work will build on the substantial progress made at the Winpisinger Center last week.

We thank you for the continued support and solidarity, and are anxious to get to the table with American Airlines to secure the contracts that TWU-IAM Association members rightfully deserve.

A simple suggestion for the all the AA/US folks -

If you're going to re-write your shift differential language, make it a standing percentage of base wages(ie; 5% swings 10%-mids) not a few pennies per hour.

You said the same thing about the medical,  " I consider that match to be a placeholder to maybe a small chance of being reinserted into the agreement if the company can't resolve the issue and have to continue retiree medical. "

They are preparing to prepare for the preparations for negotiations.

What is quite funny is that we are speaking about pennies' shift differential in the year 2015. The average was $.50 in the 70's......how pathetic.

If history dictates, prepare for things to drag along and stay the same for a looooooong time, my friend, a long time.
