Now why would US Airways Mechanic and Related have anything to do with what transpired at Boeing?

I can understand you back peddling from the Boeing thing, that
Was Not a good look at all.

So, Buffy has nothing to do with us?
The District is in charge of the CBA, not the International, there is a GLR from the IAM who is there for the GL.

The only person who will be there besides the GLR is the GVP of Transportation will be involved on a limited basis, the IP wont be involved.

And I didnt back peddle on Boeing, Boeing workers are covered by the Aerospace Department of the IAM and are under the NRLA, no one from Air Transport, or District 142 or 141 had/have anything to do with Boeing and their negotiations.

You will have to ask the IAM, the TWU and the NMB for your answers, I do not work for any of them.

just what I thought, maybe you should keep your opinions to your employers forums

Apparently you dont.

Your buddy Fa La La, isnt an employee of AA, tell him to leave.

Neither is swaamt, and others, tell them to go too.

700UW,
Understand, RLA. Got my agencies screwed up. Point is a member in JFK cannot make agreements with the company. Chuck should know that since he was a TWU officer, been on a past negotiations committee, and an AMFA organizer.

Yes he should know, he was just political grandstanding, you should be use to that with Peterson and the Gang.

Chuck,
You started this thread about negotiations and why? I saw your five minutes of negotiating technique. Not impressed. You asked Doug to just give the workers all the "good stuff" like wages, holidays, and VC back now and the TWU/IAM could then sort out the other issues later. Parker's response is exactly what it should have been. Why would he give all the stuff we want up without getting the CBA issues resolved as part of the deal? The company would have no leverage to get things like merged scope (huge to Parker) worked out since we would already have what we want? Let's reverse the situation, if Parker said, "Hey, how about the TWU and IAM use the IAM scope clause so I can start outsourcing engines now and then have all the line AMTs be fully cross-utilized now and I'll give you the pay real soon I promise." Would you do it? Parker needs the merged scope clause bad so he can start having US planes worked on in JFK with no added HC or reduce the overall on duty staff at LGA because we can both work each other's aircraft. It's not a concession like he said, but it means a lot to Parker. Like maybe a few hundred less AMTs on the line less. Maybe he wants to finally close PIT and send the work to CLT? Parker is the deal maker and has been negotiating with bankers, creditors, and Wall Street types for years now and has now successfully run little HP in to the world's largest airline. He is a professional negotiator and isn't going to give away leverage to make you feel better Chuck. And besides, doesn't the NLRA require him to negotiate with the authorized collective bargaining agent? Meaning the Association?
Parker has the perfect twins for a union to get his way. We are screwed. We are not getting anything back worth celebrating over. Even if we give more concessions. Yea, let's give the association a chance. Really?

700UW, Overspeed. You two would make good politicians!

de·flect: cause (something) to change direction by interposing something

Rogallo,
Pointing out that we need to support the Association and let the team do their job. Expressing disunity at these town halls is making AA negotiators giddy. They seem we are a group of individuals without our own agendas and they are ready to manipulate. The Association can work if we get some old school unity. Stop asking Doug for your own deal, tell your local leaders and get them to deliver for all of us.

What's interesting is the number of non-AA/TWU members on this site who tell us what we need to do.  I'm sure it's not because they're AMFA blowhards doing a little organizing in their spare time.

Little, Gless, and the rest of their kind are history. The new AA/TWU President's (whether you like them or not) have been elected by their membership. The AMFA raiding effort fell on it's A--, end of story.

Elected officials are fine, but as far as the international leadership goes, I've never been a participant in a election process for them. Never received a ballot or was aware of any nomination forms to get someone in the running. So, to me even though the local presidents are still elected like they always have been. The TWU is still the same ol TWU in my book.

And while we're on the subject of the TWU, when we had all of the smaller title one locals, we had monthly meetings. Now we are 591 and now we have quarterly meetings or at least thats what we on the left coast have, whats up with that?

The company doesnt have "professional negotiators", they use labor relations, finance and members of maintenance management.

And most people from the IAM side have been on the Negotiating Committee previously, and have years of experience.

And have actually worked under the CBA, and have been grievance reps or general chairman.
Just as was answered before for the union, there will be Actuaries and Labor Lawyers available for the company. What makes you think the company is stupid?

Sounds like a dodge to me. You have answers to every other question or statement along with pictures. For somebody who is not a dues paying member or a paid international stooge you have a lot of private union info that you should not have access to. Is this what we can expect from the crooks at the iam? If you have this info I am sure the company has the iam's whole game plan. Why do I smell a sellout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
