Pure speculation on my part, but securing all existing points for Fleet at the current PMUS activity levels probably gets you 85-90% of the way to a ratified T/A...

Plus the Pilots and FA's had those Arbitration agreements in place to force the process along. There will be a problem if the individual sides want to stand firm on keeping one thing over the other.MetalMover said:The big difference between the TWU/IAM and the pilots and f/a's is that they did not have to deal with an "association" first. They went with their respective larger unions. I am not saying five years either, but because of two unions disagreeing on what each wants to keep, it has the potential for being prolonged.
I chose my Football pool box choice as November of this year. I'll admit that I think I may lose that pool bet though. I think AA really wants to get this thing done by the end of the year?robbedagain said:agree WeAA but I use til the end of next yr to see if we get an agreement may be 6 months time WeAA you think we may have a deal to vote on or ratified by then?
Sounds about right. The bigger question will be what's the formula for restaffing going to be?Kev3188 said:Pure speculation on my part, but securing all existing points for Fleet at the current PMUS activity levels probably gets you 85-90% of the way to a ratified T/A...
The ASS (both TWU and IAM) know the members are not happy about the lack of meetings between the two. That is why the apologetic lack of information flyers are periodically sent out. Just hang in there brother. Problem is, they don't give a rats ass that you have a concern. They just muddle along as they please. After all, they are "THE ASSOCIATION"WeAAsles said:I chose my Football pool box choice as November of this year. I'll admit that I think I may lose that pool bet though. If the process can stop being slowed down because members in each group have other commitments that their National office has assigned them to, maybe it will happen?
Meeting once a month I have to be honest about just doesn't cut it for me and I think the rank and file should start asking around to find out why that's happening? (I'll plead the 5th for the time being)
Not being a part of fleet, I know there are similar issues we share. One thing I know for sure is that the lead or crew chief seniority thing is HUGE on both sides. I think the only way they resolve that issue is by following the rule depending where you work. If you are a lead or crew chief at a PMUS station you have lead seniority. If you are lead or crew chief at a PMAA station, you have your occupational. Personally I don't see too much movement on that. Other issues are no brainers...like more holidays at double time. But you are correct, maintenance does have more issues to deal with regarding tech crew chiefs and instructors.WeAAsles said:I very much doubt it will take too long for Fleet to get an agreement once they get in the room with the Company? Certainly not dragging out till the end of next year. Maintenance on the other hand "may" have more difficulty?

While I also like DOH (That's what I'm used to) the IAM side likes it the way they currently do it.Rogallo said:
That's idiotic! One rule for everyone. Is this not a union shop where everyone should be afforded equal opportunities?
DOH solves everything. It's the no brainer.
You may want to call your President to ask why these meetings are being stretched out to the next month each time they meet?AANOTOK said:The ASS (both TWU and IAM) know the members are not happy about the lack of meetings between the two. MetalMover actually has the right idea and it's the same thing I've been saying. They continue to do it there way in their stations and we do it our way in ours. In those stations that were designated to change over to the opposite Union going with the other sides way of doing things affects the least amount of people systemwide.
Hell before the merger I never even considered working in CLT, PHX or PHL anyway. (And I'm still not)

Have you not learned anything from previous mergers, especially TWA?
Short run it causes heartburn. Long run it's the easiest, and least open to interpretation...Rogallo said:
