Industrial vs. Craft

Give us a list of the work groups that make up the current Teamsters Airline Divsion?

How many members are in the Teamsters Airline Division?

Of that number how many are mechanic and related members?

Does majority rule govern the Teamsters?

How does the minority in the Airline Division have their voices heard and
issues work on with laser focus when majority rules?

What is the class or craft of the current Officers of the Teamsters Airline Division?

Where is your proof that an AA employee without a license are not mechanics? Is that your opinion or the official Teamsters position?

FACT: The A&P Mechanics are the majority and always will be in the AMFA.

So your opinion is that $600,000.00 in dues per month is not enough to represent the mechanic and related group at AA?

Is this why the Teamsters dues are 2.5 hours per month and why the Teamsters rasied the Dues Amount when representing SWA mechanics to 3 hours per month without a vote of the members?

If the Teamsters can represent the mechanics better on money, poltical clout and worldwide name recognitionm then why is outsourcing, bankruptcy laws, and issues like NAFTA still a thorn in labors ass?

Your rhetoric is in direct conflict with the facts.

The last part of your user name is correct as it pertains to the teamsters = EVIL

Typical amfa propaganda spewed here. And your defense of amfa is so weak you had to result to name calling at the end of your posting.

Can you say "UPS Mechanics-Louisville KY- The best paid AIRCRAFT MECHANICS in the U.S. Represented by the IBT.
"Just the facts mam"

Would the AA mechanics be better off with IBT representation than with the TWU?
After 22 years I realize the TWU has just been the facilitator of WAGE,BENIFITS AND WORK RULE
GIVE BACKS to AA.And to top it off,we've been paying them to do it!A Pathetic record.

Yeah,, and United mechanics could not wait to get rid of amfa and vote in the IBT. "JUST THE FACTS MAM"

LOL! Another ibt supporter talking about facts!

How about the FACT that the ibt lied their way into UAL?

How about the FACT that there is a drive here as well to replace them?

But once again ....Nice Try.

Only time can answer that question. I see the IBT as the best choice Right Now to get rid of the TWU.
I think to most AA mechanics the TWU has done a very poor job of representing the mechanics at AA.
I'm just 1 person and 1 vote in this process

Regardless of who you support I do agree with your statement here.

Per your lovely ibt, you cannot count UPS as they are in a different industry. That is what they told CAL when they could not even catch us up to pre-2003 levels last contract in 2010.

So your point is WEAK as you say, LOL.

And, why don't you answer any of Informers questions? Oh, I forgot, you can't!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

Teamster supporters are not authorized to officially speak for the Teamsters Union & probably won't be the best resource to get accurate answers to questions, If someone really wants answers to their questions the best place to get them is from a Paid Teamster Organizer because they do officially represent the Teamsters & can speak for the Organization, they are holding an Informational meeting on July 26 so that people who want to know about the Teamsters can ask questions, as for whether you can video tape it that is a question that could be asked at the meeting.

If an AMFA supporter wanted to know what the Teamsters are offering AA Mechanics then this meeting would be a opportunity to find out.

I went to the AMFA meeting because I was personally invited, I was also personally invited to go to the Teamster meeting so I will attend it as well.

Speaking of typical, you failed to answer a single question.

Why is that?

That's funny, We feel the same here at CAL with the ibt.

A 'mechanics only" union is only a fantasy in the real world. The RLA and NMB determine what work groups are lumped together during a union representation election. No matter who wins the election they are going have licensed and non-licensed groups to represent. As much as I dislike the TWU there is no way that amfa has the money to fight a battle in C11 that cost MILLIONS OF DOLLARS per month in legal fees. The IBT is the only REAL UNION being offered to mechanics and related at AA and has more money, political clout, worldwide name recognition than either the TWU or amfa.
"GO IBT"

raptorman,

Is this you under a different alias?

Welcome to "As the World Turns" in union representation elections. I completely support choice and if the majority of UAL mechanics do not like the IBT then they should choose different representation. As for AA which I have 25 + years as an AMT the IBT is by far the best choice on the table for me.

You say the ibt is the best choice on the table for you. May I ask you why? What makes them better than, let's say AMFA? I am curious what you see that I and a lot of other people don't.

That's just common sense, I could say the same for AMFA or the TWU, i'm pretty sure No union or company allows just anyone who is not employed by that Organization to speak for the Organization, doing so would be foolish, people can give their OPINIONS about an organization but certainly wouldn't be authorized to speak for the organization.
If you want your questions answered then show up at the meeting & I have no doubt your questions will be answered, if there not then you can ask the Paid Organizers/Employee's why they can't answer your question.

Anyone choosing to not show up really doesn't want answers to their questions in my opinion, I for one don't have any questions to ask them & don't intend to ask any questions at the meeting, Like at the AMFA meeting I will simply be there to show support for the cause.
