I wasn't there so all my info is second hand, I don't know if he said he was there when it happened or not but from his statement to me it sounds more like his opinion & not something that could be quantified as fact.
From what I know AMFA voted to strike then went on strike during a strike both Union & company are under self help & can do as they see fit to remedy the situation to their liking, The Union chose to withhold their services & the company chose to replace them & was able to do so, sometime you win & sometimes you lose that is the nature of the game, losing in a strike doesn't in and of itself break the Union, AMFA was still there after the strike, I don't know the details on how they ended up being de certified.
I wouldn't say that from his statement he is purposely Lying rather that he see's it from a different perspective.

Okay, just so I don't put words in your mouth, are you saying that you are unaware of the FACT(thats FACT not opinion) that NWA spent millions of dollars, hiring, training, and housing, replacement workers prior to the AMFA strike?

Are you saying you didn't already know this?

Hey I did not say this to inflame or attack anyone. If I did I am sorry. All I meant was if your going to fight a corporation that is in financial trouble(to the degree of bankruptcy) you stand a good chance of losing. Now northwest did not break them. There was an agreement between the two late in 06.

So what was the question & how was your post beneficial ?? Verbally attack the guy for giving his opinion & that will convince him he's wrong or convince us we should support your cause because that's where the professionals like yourself are ??

Fact are facts, Bullshit is bullshit. No matter how you slice/dice/roll it. it is what it is. At this juncture, any informed M&R that cannot see this is blind. I am not here trying to convince anyone, least of all you ibt/twu Kool-Aid drinkers. Your mind has already been made up regardless of the truth/facts.
Giving an opinion is not the same as spreading disinformation.
I know you love ‘opinions’ without justification and verifiable proof.
Proof and facts scare the crap out of the ibt/twu. No surprise here.
Seem's to me he was the one keeping it professional & not attacking anyone for having a different opinion, real people tend to like that type of attitude but hey just keep attacking people who don't think exactly like you do & see how well that works for your cause, especially while your trying to collect cards that's a great approach ....
Yep, posting BS one liners is the norm. If you want to be ignorant, that’s your choice.
FYI, look at my nom de plume
better hope a civil Teamster organizer doesn't follow behind you with cards though.
Thugs don’t bother me.
No one likes a bully who pouts & acts up because he doesn't get his way.
Missed your last ibt meeting?

No I didnt know that & I suspect many others aren't aware of the details either after all we all have busy lives & this is another Airline not AA .

Assuming you know what someone is doing rarely is accurate in my opinion, for example I haven't ever been to any Ibt meeting, my first will be on the 26th, I have only been to the Ibt temporary card drive office twice & when I was there only discussed organizing strategies not the Teamsters as an organization, don't assume others have the same history as you have, If you want to know ask don't assume.

In the end, the membership gets the representation they deserve.

Changing from one industrial union to another as a claim of betterment.

Supporting a change to another industrial union while not being willing to be a leader.

Using the term "Look at what happened at Northwest". And yet cannot even say what really did happen at Northwest when asked.

Claiming we will once again have a defined pension with ibt.

Claiming we will obtain an improved medical benefits by going to the ibt plan.

To date every member that supports the ibt cannot answer simple questions regarding the Railway Labor Act, the National Mediation Representation Manual, very little still about the 1113 BK code, the Teamsters Constitution, the AMFA Constitution, the TWU Constitution...

In other words they are all emotionally backing the ibt, but have no facts as to why they are in support of that effort.

In the end, the members get the representation they deserve.

I agree the members get the representation they deserve but think most people who support the Teamsters are doing so out of name recognition, they know very little about the Teamsters, they have just seen them In movies or their Parents were in the Teamsters etc. I also agree that people have seen bits & pieces of what happened at NW & other AMFA companies from the press & don't know the real story, many seem unwilling to take the time to learn. Unfortunately the press rarely reports good things that happen they report bad.

Is his definition of breaking AMFA the same as your definition of breaking AMFA ??
Not sure if it matters its in the past

NWA was trying to break AMFA, the history is readily available for all to see.

Are you really going to try and argue into the absurd on the definition of breaking the union?

BTW the truth always matters, whether past or present.

With the Teamsters background it is very likely that an envelope or two were passed under the table.

Ok let me tell you..........

THE TRUTH........

AS AN AMT SITTING WITH A COMPANY IN BANKRUPTCY YOU HAVE NO I REPEAT "NO" POWER TO DEMAND ANYTHING...... Now Its been tried once before..
