Ha Ha...you guys really crack me up. In all your ego you have the morale ordacity to claim I'm lying. My opinion is based on my phone call ( which you can make also ). As far as dues money?. I could care less as dues will be collected whomever is the representation party. Like i said, anyone can call. Its a live person ...

Looks like the brush so far.  I will resend e-mail one more time and do yet another follow up call.  This is the first time it has taken this long.  He also may be tired of answering the same question over and over.

Well here you go Mike33, 700, and Josh.  Below is my third, I repeat my third email sent to the NMB.  Don West was out sick until today, or rather yesterday (Tues. 12-17-13) which was his first day back from being sick.  Below is my email and his response.  As you can see I made it clear that this was for the representation vote for the alliance or not, and he still gave me the EXACT response that the NMB has no jurisdiction over the combination of two unions.  Here's the emails:-

Combination of 2 Unions

The NMB has no jurisdiction over the combination or merger of unions.

We are still getting wrong information.  Can you please answer the following question.  First, there is going to be an election coming forth to vote for or against the alliance of the combination of 2 unions the TWU and IAM after the merger of AA and US is completed.  Although neither membership has had no say for the formation of the alliance they will be voting rather to have this alliance represent them or not.  Here's the question:   Who will conduct, or run this election?  Will it be the NMB?   Or is this type of representational vote out of the jurisdiction of the NMB as I was told once before by the information officer?  Sorry for the repeated question, but there are folks out here misleading to the point where I had to ask it again to make sure we were under the same understanding that this upcoming election is for representation by the alliance, and not the formation of the alliance.   Again the membership had no say in the formation of this alliance, but they will have a vote rather to have the alliance represent them or not.  Who will be conducting this election?    If the membership votes against the alliance, or non-union in this case, will this mean they will be no longer union represented at each carrier or at the combined carrier?
Thank you in advance for your expertise in this matter.

To whom it may concern:
I am contacting the NMB to inquire about your agency's jurisdiction in mergers of unions and alliance/association type joint representational agreements between unions. As you are likely aware, the International Association of Machinists (IAM) and Transport Workers Union (TWU) have reached an agreement to jointly represent fleet service and mechanic & related classifications at the "new" American Airlines following the pending merger with US Airways. Members are being told an election will be held by the NMB and will be given the opportunity to select (1) IAM/TWU Alliance OR (2) No representation. My understanding is the NMB has no jurisdiction over such an agreement and election. Would you be able to confirm this for me?

Kind Regards,
Josh

Just posted.

Received further confirmation from the NMB to my follow-up question:

Absent an Application to the NMB, NMB certifications stand as they are. Whether or not an application is made, is a decision of the union/s involved.

Thank you for the reply. However my concern is that the combined alliance will receive the certification for the fleet service and mechanic & related craft and class at the "new" American Airlines. As was the case in the CWA-IBT alliance for passenger service, will the IAM & TWU file an application with the NMB?

Josh

At AA it is very difficult to tell the TWU and the company apart. Now we have to add the IAM in the mix. Remember the old saying "Twos company and threes a crowd"?
Well now "Threes a company and the employees are a screwed"!!

Seems to be that since we have posted our recent info from the NMB, that 700 is very quiet.  As well as Mike is also very quiet, Hmmm, wonder why?

Josh, thx for taking the time to investigate yourself.  Something ALL US and AA mechanics should have done themselves.   Why it took a SWA mech. to bring it to light is completely beyond me.  Laziness within the mechanic/union ranks is a bothersome.   Carry on gentlemen, carry on...

The NMB cant rule and tell you something that hasnt even been filed with them yet.

So you can post all your e-mails you want, the association hasnt filed the paperwork with the NMB.

So if you think your so smart and know it all, why didnt you win the MegaMillions?

So the NMB doesnt know what is going to go on, and I will standby what they association has put out in writing than from an information officer who doesnt even have the alliance paperwork.

Happy now that I replied?

And what joshie posted doesnt say the NMB wont conduct the vote, now does it?
