IAM Stepping Up campaign

If it has been said 1000s of times, then someone besides me has said it.

I have said it SEVERAL times but the point is still the same.

The DL-NW merger was about as much of a surprise or a secret as King Henry VIII's attempts to gain a son thru one woman or another.

DL made it very clear that it intended to maintain its culture which included being non-union.

NW helped out by getting rid of AMFA.

DL people are the other half of the unionization efforts and they are far from convinced that a union is needed - they weren't before NW came along and there have been multiple mergers and acquisitions that have involved unions and exposed DL people to the union mindset.

They have REPEATEDLY said no.

Josh is absolutely right... you have never stopped advocating for a union for even two weeks at a time - that is hardly giving DL a chance.

Many of your PMNW peers have indeed given DL a chance and are happy with what they have.

if you are right, then the vote should be forthcoming. And if it is the decision of DL people, I certainly support it.

we just haven't seen that evidence yet.

whether I see it or not won't change that we will know when a vote has been scheduled.

And if it does happen, I can absolutely assure you that I will congratulate you on your achievement.

do you believe that?

Oh, I'm sure you will- and every sentence will likely be oozing the usual contempt & condescension the rest of your posts do.

At any rate, it's not about me. I'm only one person.

take it for what its worth but today in talks with several of the IAM leadership that came to visit us regarding our up coming vote  the IAM believes that B6 and or DL will be the next one to go with the IAM and from what we were told they are seriously thinking DL is going to go IAM before B6    they also sounded very positive about it.
You didn't expect them to cast a gray cloud, over their parade, did you?

no kidding wt  of course i know the IAM is saying that  but its also the first time they mentioned it to us.  and Josh of course it was no shocking brainer you would make that comment  bottom line is there is content at DL and its more than possible that in the  near future we cld very well see DL go union  Thats just my own thinking and its my own wish to see that happen  However I do respect those that do not want to be union

yes, we know.

it is precisely because there are 5000 other people you have to convince that the vote hasn't taken place.

bottom line is there is content at DL
that's right, robbed,

DL people are content with what they have and aren't interested in losing what they do have to gain something else that won't deliver something better.

thats not the content Im talking about  if you would "learn to actually grasp" what Im saying it cld be better for you to understand...

...Or maybe you're just not in any sort of actual position to see it...

I'll let you in on a secret; neither campaign is happening here (or A. Net, for that matter)...
Right! They're happening in local bars, with 6-8 people in attendance!

WOW! This place is like a ghost town! Union drive stall or did 700 get demoted from his IAM position?

Did it take you 3 days to think of that post? I see you are lying again, I do not work for the IAM, and last time I checked you aren't ACS or a FA so it's their choice, not yours or mine.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today announced that approximately 11,000 maintenance training specialist, fleet service and mechanic and related employees approved new contracts by 96, 86 and 67 percent respectively at the "new" American Airlines.

The three year accords provide for significant wage hikes, industry-best job security, retains affordable health insurance and preserves defined-benefit pension plans at the carrier.

"I'd like to thank all IAM members and their negotiating committees at US Airways for their patience, support and determination during this tenuous process," said General Vice President Sito Pantoja. "We are now well situated to begin joint contract talks with our Transport Worker Union (TWU) sisters and brothers to achieve the best contracts in the airline industry at the world’s largest airline."

The TWU-IAM representation Alliance, formed last year after the merger of US Airways and American Airlines, will begin talks with American Airlines for agreements that will bring over 30,000 TWU-IAM Alliance members under joint contracts.

The IAM is the world’s largest airline union and represents approximately 11,000 pre-merger US Airways workers.

So maybe it's high time you butt out and respect their choice to remain unorganized.
