I pay 'em too. IMO, they're not paid enough...

Speaking of AFSCME, anyone see that they grew by ~90k over the last year? More than double their targeted goal. Fantastic story.
wonderful... we'll push for a box or line on tax returns for those who wish to pay above market wages to do so just like the box for presidential campaign contributions - except it will be WAY more than just a buck; meanwhile, the rest of us vote to pay market wages.

you know if you want the money the bankers make, you could go to school and then become one.

that is the way the free market works, robbed.

nothing keeps you out of any job except your own abilities and will to pursue it.

and if you don't want to do the job, then it is hard for you to slight someone who has pursued a job and is reaping the benefits of it.

same thing is being a pilot, lawyer, doctor, or any other job.

actually my point is and i should have put it that way before.. if any one of us had committed the same bs the bankers did and destroyed peeps lifes we be the ones to face the courts n prison   why are they immune to that bs.. thats flat out wrong.  anyhow back on topic..

So you are painting an entire industry and profession with the same brush based on the actions of a few? I expect better from you. Yes most people don't like banks. I get it. Much of the traveling public hates airlines too don't you know? What you have to understand is there are many people who work at financial institutions who are hardworking dedicated people who take their jobs seriously and want to support their families.

and there have been billions of dollars in fines and consumer recoveries by the governments.

executives act in the name of the company and the company itself pays for the actions of its officers.

they aren't immune, robbed.

and it is relevant because you and others repeatedly raise it as part of your class warfare efforts which the unions love to start.

When the time is right.
seems we've heard that for about five years now.

this was posted on one of the other sites regarding the UA situation... one of the best posts I have seen and is representative of far more PMNW people than some would like to believe.

"I'm a PMNW employee who had to adapt to DL rules and policies. I even went from union to non-union, so a lot of changes. But now, we're a successful airline, I've made new friends from 'the other side' my job feels more secure (we're not careening from one crisis to the next) etc.

"Moving on just seems the right thing to do, but if it isn't for UA, I wish you all the very best in your endeavors."

nobody should be "uppity"

recognizing that the free market rewards those who take the risk to get an education and work in "at risk" jobs is the central issue.

that is the way the job market works. Those who invest in their careers enjoy the rewards.

there is nothing that stops anyone in the U.S. of A of pursuing the career they want.

The truth is that terms like "free market" are merely tools to rationalize real issues like wealth inequality.

If you like the track this country is on, by all means continue to advocate for the things you do.

P.S. You forgot to include that the resources "risk takers" use to build wealth are often facilitated by those same "overpaid" workers you so despise.

let's be very clear.

I am for JUSTICE, not socialism.

There is NO INCENTIVE nor will there ever be any support for providing salaries to people that can't be justified by the effort they put forth to gain their salaries.

I can show you plenty of countries where public workers are paid DISPROPROTIONATELY higher than everyday people on the street just because they got a job that the vast majority of people will never get.

If you were half as concerned about income inequality as you say, then you would be campaigning AGAINST The excessive pay that a lot of government workers get compared to other employees in private enterprise.

And when the taxes are reduced for every day Americans based on less government spending, they get a pay raise.

Check the box saying you want fat, inefficient government.

You are very much in the minority in America.
