I think rather than heap scorn upon our own union based on facts that we aren’t certain of , we should take this time to encourage Mr hemming way to deal fairly with his fellow us airways workers … Rather than look to outsource every AMERICAN JOB to the lowest company alive , which leads to low performance , security breaches and theft aka delta global , perhaps Mr hemmingway should think about the quality of our operations and the benefits to keeping things in-house .

Let me say this about out sourced operations , I COMPLETELY understand why baggage handlers at companies like delta global STEAL from the passengers , in fact I smile with glee when I see these news reports …

These people are VASTLY underpaid , why labor for 40 hours a week working minimum wage with NO benefits of any kind , when you can lift a laptop that will sell on eBay or the street for more than that worker can make in an entire MONTH ? These outscoring companies don‘t even bother to pay enough to keep their workers HONEST ,and how many times have we read about these outsourcing companies flying in drugs eh ?

Outsourcing is a bad idea , not only for security reasons but also for on time performance , how can I say this , THE SERVICE COMPANY WORKERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT OUR ON TIME PERFORMANCE , nothing and I repeat NOTHING is at stake for them …

While Tim here may lay scorn upon our negotiators I have confidence in you guys! Do the best you can , that’s all anyone can ask , I can only imagine how difficult it must be to deal with a company as asinine as us airways . Also good luck Mr Roth!!

I heard one thing today and it reeked of stupidity. Look, we got a bunch of dumb negotiators up there, bottom line. I'm not kiddn, really stupid and I really hate calling anyone dumb.
Hemenway is trying to steal the socks off of these guys and gals while keeping their shoes on them. Here's the only scoop I have but it's enough to piss us off. PF made a call down to Cactus land today and spoke with a previous negotiator from the last contract and it seems as if Hemenway was 'hoodwinking' our very own negotiating team into believing he can contract out the 19 stations right now if they aren't making money. That is inaccurate but my understanding is that Hemenway was preaching it and Canale was turning the page. For Canale, Flynn, and I presume others to suggest this might be true is really ignorant and reeks of stupidity. Anyways, Flynn was set straight as of early afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised if both Canale and Rich Johnson were basically agreeing with Hemenway through all this. The problem comes in at that it would be a 'deep concession' for us to give up 19 stations, but Hemenway is making it sound like we are actually going to be 'getting 19 stations' until 2011. WTF? These guys can't be voted out soon enough!

Tim,
This is enough to make me sick. The paid guys we have at the table right now seem not to understand contract language. With Canale agreeing with Hemenway why doesnt Randy just annouce he is joing Management. Who side is this guy on for crying out loud! June is not coming soon enough. With the election coming we all need to take this postion on Canale and Crew click here

TIME TO WALK AWAY AND WAIT FOR 09

O man I completely disagree with walking away until dec 31 2009 . Aka 2010 .

That is an unacceptable solution , this company had best play fair .

To the company , we here in the west have suffered long enough , you owe us something , how much longer do you intend to DRAG US THROUGH THE MUDD???????????????

Freedom…

Remember, our negotiators…no matter how competent they may… or may not be…are NOT the final negotiators!

We …the Membership are!

You…Me…Tim…
and all other Fleet Members here… have the dubious distinction of being a “decider†along with the collective bargaining power of this membership to accept, or more importantly… reject…any…and I mean any…Tentative Agreement placed in front of us!

I call on the collective intelligence, wisdom…and resolve of the Solidarity Network to fully evaluate any T/A that may come out of these negotiations, and further render a resounding NO… if it is not industry parity! (Period)

I have a gut feeling that if any T/A comes out it wont be one to pass when will the company realize that the employees are its valued assets Time to get a FAIR AGREEMENT none of the Hemmingly sh!T or the Canale Sh!t

The above info is 'spot on'. I guess the phone was handed to PF and someone else but I didn't catch everything that was said on a poor cell phone reception. But the info I posted above was 'spot on' according to the call from a special 'key west person' who was involved in previous negotiations.

I really see no reason why the question even came up. At minimal, our negotiators need to copy and paste the NW 1999 letter of agreement between the IAM and NWA which protected the small stations, even if NWA replaced all its jet service with airlink RJ's. I mean, why does PF even have to make the call. He needs to stop listening to hemenway mesmerizing him, snap out of it, and just keep the 19 stations or minimally grandfather them. Pay no attention to what Hemenway is saying. Stick to guns.

Tim you pretty much summed it up when you said "morons we have morons on our team." although one could consider adding crooks to that

first off i agree with you roll , we are the final deciding factor in any acceptance or rejection of a TA and it lays in all our hands

Secondly and to road , while some of you east guys may thinking waiting until 2010 is a plan , we here in PHX see who benefits from such a plan , and it is the company . Every time we wait , the company wins , the longer this gets drawn out , the company WINS … this is the management of AMERICA WEST AIRLINES , and their playbook is WAIT WAIT WAIT ….we’ve seen this TIME AND TIME AGAIN …

Our union will actively purse good faith negations with this company , there is only ONE thing that can force us airways to negotiate with us in a real world manner , and it is ACTION . Time and TIME again in PHX it is hammered into me that the ONLY thing that matters is action , the ONLY thing that counts are results . Right now , we here on this board are not doing ANYTHING , our words DO NOT COUNT , words are not ACTION … we must take ACTION against this company , that is the motto of PHX and we will embrace it , you will learn to embrace it , we will become a union like the unions of OLD …

ACTION provides results , nothing else matters .

My angry friend in PHX , your right and I’m finally seeing that words fall far short with this bully of a company , only action will get us to where we need to be .

Also to clarify , I myself personally am not advocating illegal activities of any kind that would violate the RLA , but not all of my PHX brothers feel the same way I do , and believe you me , I stand behind them , what ever their actions maybe .

One thing I want y’all to keep in mind…Hemenway ‘n Cornhole’e... are both drawin’ down “Big Bucksâ€â€¦they are very well paid!

These negotiations are a “game†to them… EGO to EGO…

We (Fleet) need to reiterate… that we ain’t takin’ no BS! Our live’s and financial well being hinge on what is negotiated!

Why hasn't the union responded with some "insourcing" language of
there own? ie. OGG has more than 14 flts/wk for a year and
we go in. How bout IAH? How bout all the east stas?

Why does the union take such a concessionary position? The
answer that is they want a TA. They pretend that most of us
want a TA. They still issue statements that state their mission
is to get a TA. But at what cost?

I don't know if the majority of FS will accept a medicre TA or
not. I hope that most of us will be willing to wait it out. In the
mean time no matter what we need to get better representation.

Over on the pilots thread is the latest missive from the interim
chair of USAPA. He makes the point that in today's competative
market it makes sence to have your own union. There are,
they say, times when a large union may take a possition which
helps one group and hurts another. But we in FS lost in our
recent attempt at trying to get a union who would cater more
to our interests. We are now committed to the IAM and are
having to do what we think is necessary so that our interests
will be served.

Thanks BF

PS If you are in a station who are currently getting a significant
Geo diff In your pay would you please PM me.

When Canale gets kicked off, things will definately change and we will be asking for insourcing if there isn't a fair agreement beforehand.
Actually, on the iam141 site, you can plainly see that we not only didn't ask for insourcing last month but we actually asked Hemenway to contract out these 19 stations. Hemenway didn't even have to ask for them.

Freedom,
I would love to see a signed deal tommorow but I'm not willing to sell out Fleet Service just to allow the Present District Elected morons cut a cozy deal for themselves with management. You wanna put pressure and heat on the company get behind the New Direction ticket.
Canale and the rest of the deadweight we have at the table need to go. They have had there chance for years and brougt us nothing but Bad Communication , Leadership and Representation.
