This might be a stupid question, but is there anyone in the negotiating committee that would be kind enough to log on here at day's end and report on what was discussed today, or is that illegal?
Would be nice to get a play by play or end of day synopsis.

I guess at this point no news can be considered good news. Seems that they must still be talking because back in Feb. by this point our NC had already walked out and the talking had ceased.

My understanding is they will continue talks tomorrow...

I don't think it is legal to disclose written minutes of negotiations as they proceed.
I was told that no paperwork was balled up and thrown, and no one walked out!

Don't expect much though....

Here is the official ROABILLY prediction for the M&R group, who will vote this Thursday…

70% for the agreement…

30% opposed to the agreement.

Ratification!

(With a 5% margin for error)

There's nothing in the law that says so. The Company insists on Non Disclosure agreements, and the IAM appears to favor them as well. The Company probalby does it to exert it's power; "We don't want you talking aobut it, so you can't. If you refuse we won't negotiate". I believe the Union does it for a somewhat more respectable and valid reason. If they say "This is where we are" and then give one of those items up for something else, they may get the "But you told us we had this already!"

Please excuse the typos. To lazy to fix them.

Ain't try'n tahh bust yer chops...but... A Non disclosure Agreement is a written... legally binding document.

Hence...it ain't legal for tha Union tah disclose minutes of ongoing negotiations.

Non-disclosures are usually when the company releases its books to the union. The IAM has been known to sign them but many unions don't. The union is free to communicate to its members and the company is also free. Last month Hemenway got pissed and blabbed about offering fleet $19hr.

My understanding is, as of around… Noon (EST) today…negotiations were still ongoing… with the Union awaiting a response from the Company, to a Union submitted proposal from yesterday evening.

If anyone has any further updates please post!

I heard one thing today and it reeked of stupidity. Look, we got a bunch of dumb negotiators up there, bottom line. I'm not kiddn, really stupid and I really hate calling anyone dumb.
Hemenway is trying to steal the socks off of these guys and gals while keeping their shoes on them. Here's the only scoop I have but it's enough to piss us off. PF made a call down to Cactus land today and spoke with a previous negotiator from the last contract and it seems as if Hemenway was 'hoodwinking' our very own negotiating team into believing he can contract out the 19 stations right now if they aren't making money. That is inaccurate but my understanding is that Hemenway was preaching it and Canale was turning the page. For Canale, PF, and I presume others to suggest this might be true is really ignorant and reeks of stupidity. Anyways, PF was set straight as of early afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised if both Canale and RJ were basically agreeing with Hemenway through all this. The problem comes in at that it would be a 'deep concession' for us to give up 19 stations, but Hemenway is making it sound like we are actually going to be 'getting 19 stations' until 2011. WTF? These guys can't be voted out soon enough!
Morons.....we got morons on our team
