Joe Dirt,

If the ramp ever becomes more efficient, then see into your future...

Single person in the forward B737 bin, 43 bags download in just over 2 minutes.

And Tim, that SWA kid doesn't look like any Superman to me, even when he tries to sell his tickets to the gun show at the end.

So Reviews Jester.

Hmm,
Where should I start my critique of this download?
1. keeps looking at the camera like he's in some amateur porn video. (ala Bret Michaels,Pamela Anderson)
2. Actually looks like he's working hard. A 737? Most of us would have been laying back checking texts already.
3. Most bags look like they ended up on the belt with the tags facing away from whomever was going to run them.

I'm sure we can find a lot more wrong with this, but I'll spare this youth for now.

silly rabbit 737's are for kids.

Do two people even fit in the front of a 737 bin? Only way i would ever allow it was if my partner was eva longoria or something to that effect.

Doing it
I was thinking some of the exact same thoughts. The kid needs to work on his stamina. Looks like he is slowing down towards the end. Looks like he needs to invest in a good pair of gloves too. I don't see a single 50lb + bag in the whole load.

Regarding LAS...

Apparantly when Donna Paladini
Watch out laysoff out of seniority and out of classification, happen back east with passenger service . Keep all the supervisor and layoff all the agents. Creating job protecting for the supervisor made a lot of jr want to be managers with perks

Hey O-man....what's an ol' geezer with 30 yrs looking at in clt? The misses likes Ft. Mill, SC...GF
GF
There are too many options to list. You would pretty much have your choice with a few exceptions. What would you like and we could tell you if you can hold that line.

No, it's just the way it has been done for years in PHX. Two people in the front bin of a 737 would lead to raised eyebrows, shaking heads and serious questions about one's juevos, or lack thereof. There would be talk in the breakroom and it would not be flattering.

This is U-S Airways now, not HP....get hurt in the bin by yourself and jeopardize your family's welfare by not getting comp.......don't care what anyone says about being a wuss.........the company has every right to not pay your comp if you are working by yourself.........plus, why would you want to help this company out after everything they have done to you by killing yourself.....ask ANY east guy with over 10 years and i guarantee they won't work a bin by himself.

Work safe and save your body, if not for any other reason.

Oh my gosh! No one ever told me! I was wondering why I was working with all of those US Airways guys that used to be at the other concourse. And sharing the break room and bag room, as well. I'm never told anything here. So that's why one of those US Airways guys was driving around in an America West bag tag. I guess I shouldn't have chased him down and beat him up for stealing America West equipment!

Please don't be angry. I was just having fun. You were being condescending so I pulled your chain. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings or get you upset. We're cool.

Not being condescending at all.....100% union guy and just want to watch out for my union brothers......don't want to see any of you guys and gals get hurt or screwed because of this company, and believe me they aren't going to protect us if God forbid, something happens.

My apologies for falsely detecting condescension.

I used to work in PHX and I don't think there will be 2 people in the forward bin of a 737-300 or A319 anytime soon. No offense to Phoenicians but they are not a friendly crowd. There are alot of different nationalities and cultures and regional American mindsets that demand personal space. An invasion of that personal space may be misunderstood as an unwanted sexual advance or an affront to their masculinity. There is a high machismo factor in PHX. With you being from Pittsburgh, I will assume that you may be of Eastern European descent. Polish, Slovak, Serbian, etc. Just assuming, mind you... These cultures don't see close proximity of co-workers as anything negative. In fact, it is welcome and carries no homophobic stigma. It is just comeraderie. I can almost guarantee that if you went to PHX and jumped into the front bin of a 737 with someone, you would be immediately shooed away. Refusal to get out could result in an ugly scene and you would NEVER do that again. Not saying it is right... it just is what it is...

Like Forrest Gump says: That's all I have to say about that.

pit til death,
To lighten the mood a little... are those primanti bros sandwiches as good as they say. I'm willing to fly there to eat one, maybe catch the mets too. my mouth waters just thinking about em

We are expected to work in a bin by ourselves.

One time on a quick turn- a SUP came an got on our case for not loading the front AND the back at the same time. The flight was packed full of cargo, bags, mail, etc. There were only 3 of us working the flight.

GET HIM IN THE FRONT, AND START THROWIN BAGS!! The sup screams.

Trust me, we aren't staffed for 2 people in a bin in PHX. Not on a quick turn, at least.

Chill
I'm assuming that a Sup is a Shift Mgr and not a ramp lead. That kind of behavior would not be tolerated in the station I work from either a lead or manager. If it was even attempted there is no way the flight would go out on time. Screaming is not taken to very well from anybody.

I've worked thousands of bins alone and it was usually out of respect for who I was working with. It's all in the approach. No yelling or running allowed on the ramp.
Priority one is your back.
Priority two is your partner.
Priority three your team lead.
Priority four... on time departure. I know it's sad, but true.
