That means so much coming from a stores clerk.   Why don't we AMTs start telling Pilots & FAs what looks like a good deal or not.  We saw the highlight sheet, you know, the good stuff?  Well, that pretty much sucked, and we haven't even seen the bad stuff yet.

Look, if the US Air AMTs bite on this deal, it will leave them still dead last in pay - this has already been pointed out!  The benefits will only be better than ours at AA - where we are currently dead last.  We have the TWU International to thank for that.  Now the IAM & TWU want to represent the joint group of US Air & AA AMTs & Related - God forbid.  What a losing combination.

We can't get AMFA in soon enough..

I never stated its good or bad, I simply stated the pay.
Well, thanks for pointing out the obvious.  It's a good thing we have you here to explain to us what we are reading on the term sheet..

The mere fact that you made such a post, implies what you deny saying!

It's not happy at SWA

While the airline has had strong profits and stock prices have soared, employees aren’t happy, Kelly was told.

“What concerns us greatly, however, is the rapid deterioration of our once-great Culture; morale has dropped to an all-time low,” the letter stated. “The strife between our unions and management has begun to resemble that of an air carrier facing bankruptcy when ultimately we are at a time that our morale should be at an all-time high.”

that is all thanks to the TWU dragging the whole industry down with concessionary contracts which puts other airlines at cost disadvantage and in turn makes it harder for other unions to negotiate better terms when they put the TWU concessions as evidence.  we always said prior to the concessionary votes that our concessions will hurt future negotiations and here it is.  Thanks TWU

Typical elitist response.
Typical manipulator response.  Right, just make yourself out to be the victim, and anybody with a logical argument becomes the evil antagonist.

Try again spud.

I could be wrong, the contract that is on TWU website has a base of 28.48 in 2011, 6% added puts it at 30.18.. Where are you getting these numbers?

I agree with your logic. The TWU was dragged down in BK negotiations by AA using inferior agreements at UA, CO, AS, and SW that allowed industry highest outsourcing rates. If it wasn't for the IBT and AMFA lowering the bar on scope the TWU would have done better. Thanks AMFA

With all due respect to you 700 I have a particular disdain for that "elitist" moniker. I remember full well during our fight at NW to rid ourselves of the iam that term elitist was floated around quite a bit from the iam trying to pit the ramp/agents against the mechanics because we were trying to seperate and go it alone. Now did a few stupid mechanics make it worse for us by dogging the other work groups yes they did. But the vast majority of us just wanted to negotiate a contract for us and by us with no other work groups in the mix. Does that make us elitists? Well I do not begrudge pilots for the salary they negotiate or F/A's or dispatchers for that matter.  One thing all those groups have going for them is they are not required to have other employee groups as part of their class and craft like we are. When mechanics wanted a union of their own too all holy hell broke loose. Unions like the iam have saw to it that other employee groups were tied to mechanics skill  to bolster other workgroups pay and there is no denying that. The NMB has aircraft cleaners in our class and craft and lobbying by the iam and other like type unions are a big reason for that. Although it backfired on the iam in the NW case since the cleaners which the iam hoped would skew the vote like in the past AMFA challenges actually lost because of them. I worked hard to get my A@P and if I had known then what I know now I would never have wasted my time getting it. I would have become a 5 week wonder dispatcher made more money would have never been accused of being elitist and would have negotiated my own contacts and been welcome in the cockpit jumpseats of any airline like the pilots are. The only good thing for me is my pay is at least pretty decent here at big purple far more than any union airline I ever worked for and even though I have many issues with AMFA and how things went down at NW they are responsible for raising the bar in this industry for mechanics something the iam and the twu have never done.

To The TWU/IAM Clowns,

I haven't been on here in a while.  But simply said, this contract is pathetic.  How in the world does a group of US Air Mechanics end up with TWU's negotiated American Airlines bankruptcy contract?  Furthermore, It still places them last in the industry in take home pay.  We will still have a higher premium after our september 12, 2014 increase.

AMFA Now More Than Ever!
