I.A.M VS I.B.T

Funny how the ibt conveniently left out scope language comparisons.

IAM-all narrowbody airbus aircraft all heavy mtc and 50% of the B737s heavy mtc.

ibt= heavy mtc performed by Timco in Macon, GA, Lake City, FL and Macon, GA and by Aeroman in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Ironic that this was not compared.

you do a side by side comparison of the IBT and IAM contracts.what you are showing is how much more costly IBT makes operations for the New Usair....its easy to see IBT hasn't stepped up to the plate as the members of IAM did to keep the airline alive and hopefully turn it around into profitability so all can reap the benefits when things are better. ;)
say what you want but thats the way it is in this business right now

THIS IS WHY THE COMPANY WANTS YOUR CONTRACT!!!!!!

LETTER OF AGREEMENT 3
Upon Board of Directors approval of the return of “Câ€￾ Checks work to be performed by
employees within the bargaining unit, the Company and the Union shall meet without delay to
agree how many non-A&P positions (other than those identified in Article 11.2) constitutes a
reasonable number to assist in the performance of the “Câ€￾ check and related work, and on the
pay, work rules and benefits that will enable the Company to hire such reasonable number of
mechanics.

Don't let the facts get in your way..

We had our BK back in 1991 AND HAVE NOT BEEN BACK.
WE the employees stepped up to the plate back then to turn it around into profitability so you can reap the benefits of having A JOB at this time.
You do a side by side comparison of the IBT and IAM contracts.
THE IAM SOLD OUT ITS MEMBERS.
THE IBT BROUGHT BACK OUR MEMBERS.
THE IAM CONTRACT LOCKED UP TILL 2009.
THE IBT CONTRACT WITH THE NEW JOB SCOPE IS ON THE TABLE NOW WITH PAY AND BENEFITS BETTER THAN YOU HAVE NOW.

THE OLD USAIR WAS DAYS FROM SHUTTING DOWN CHAPTER LIGHTS OUT. :cold:

THE AWA/HP WAS SHOWING PROFITABILITY AND EXPANDING WITH NEW AIRBUS's AND ROUTES.

More costly IBT makes operations? LOOKS LIKE WE WERE DOING JUST FINE WITH OUT YOU. B)
AND BEFORE ONE OF YOU SAY DP SAID WE WERE HEADING FOR BK TOO LOOK AT IT FROM HERE, WITH THE EAST LOOSING 500.000.00 A DAY HE MIGHT BE RIGHT AND WITHOUT YOU IT WAS ONLY A MAYBE FOR AWA.
SO DONT TWIST THE IBT INTO THE OLD USAIR AND IAM DOWN FALL. :cop:

HAVE A NICE IBT DAY..

EXACTLY!

EXACTLY! We helped each other out as well, AWA employees, that is.

THE IAM SOLD OUT ITS MEMBERS. Or at least the IAM didn't have the nads, or maybe is was the members, to stand up to the company. Understood that the judge abrogated the contracts but think about it; wasn't the whole contract a part of the problem with it's rigidity, when the industry was going in the turlet?? HP/AWA was always on the lower end so our members were more flexible.
THE IBT BROUGHT BACK OUR MEMBERS.
EXACTLY!!
THE IAM CONTRACT LOCKED UP TILL 2009.
EXACTLY and much to the delight of upper management.
THE IBT CONTRACT WITH THE NEW JOB SCOPE IS ON THE TABLE NOW WITH PAY AND BENEFITS BETTER THAN YOU HAVE NOW.
EXACTLY!! And it's currently in negotiation with talks scheduled early in February.

Hey 700 what will your scope do for you stores clerks when the nmb rule that you are out of the maint work group. talk to you buddy Jerry Glass on how it was ruled that way during the initial awa ibt contract. also with that iam back door clause your scope is nothing.

Ouch!! Sounds like a good time for the re-alignment of the mechanics and related contract.

Nothing to worry about, been on the same contract since 1949.
