Sorry, I can't copy the letter from flight service, however, the good news is.... 233 of the most senior flight attendants presently on furlough status are being recalled for July 1st. All 233 to be based at LGA.

Yes..this is great news..I also read where the 233 to be called back have to respond by June 19th. The most junior f/a recalled has a hire date of August 3, 2000. I'm very happy and hope that this is only the beginning!!!

This is APFA President John Ward with a special hotline update.
Today is Wednesday, June 9.

APFA is pleased to announce some very good news report today and at
a time when good news stories seem to be few and far between. The
company will today announce the recall of 233 Flight Attendants,
effective July 1. The junior most Flight Attendant receiving a
recall letter has a hire date of August 3, 2000. A list of the
employee numbers of those Flight Attendants to be recalled will soon
be posted on the opening page of the APFA Web site.

The company will today be mailing recall packets to those Flight
Attendants affected by this recall and responses must be completed
and received by the company by June 19th, 2004. Failure to respond
to the recall notice by that date will result in forfeiture of
recall rights. For more recall information please refer to Article
16.D. of the APFA Contract.

All Flight Attendants being recalled will be assigned to the LGA
base. The recall packet will contain information such as training
requirements, report to base dates, schedules, and more.

APFA is very pleased, as I know you are, to be welcoming back to the
line these members from furlough.

Now please remain on the line for the June 4th, hotline message.

Congratulations! Let's hope we have everyone recalled very soon.

This is VERY good news. Thanks, Art, for posting the letter. Now I'm only 138 from the top. Maybe Christmas!
Jim,

Do you know if this recall will reach "Flyboy4u"'s number? I hope for his sake, that it will.

flyboy will you be back with this recall? If so welcome back.....glad to have eveyone back....good news indeed.

Yes guys I am returning to AA....It's a godsend, and I can't wait to return to the line. Exactly, 1 year to the date of furlough and exactly on my 33rd Birthday, I will be returning to the job I love. I guess prayers really do work. For those of you still out there, hang in there it will happen, and know I will never forget what you guys are going through.

Thanks for pulling for me!

What Unity?

wonderful news. could it be that the company has already gotten some resignations from people supposed to be coming off th OL on 7/1.

welcome back to the line. it's certainly different than when you left, but nontheless, welcome back :)

I sure am happy to see furloughees to our ranks, but I bet now that Flyboy will be the first to whine and complain about the work rules that he told us recently we needed to suck up and deal with!

Watch what you wish for.

I'm not one to comment on these boards as I much prefer to read the posts and take them in, so to speak...but I must say that I am glad for you Flyboy and to everyone else on that list who will be joining us on the line, including a certain good buddy of mine that is just ecstatic and can't wait for July 1st. Many of us are keeping our fingers crossed hoping that the rest will be coming back soon too.
Stay positive because if I remember right, no one was due to be recalled in all of 2004 according to HDQ. Take everything they say with a grain of salt, but of course those that have been around here for awhile already know that!! ;)

How many of those who were on OVL chose to quit rather than to fly?

That is what I am wondering. Technically, a f/a on OVL is not required to notify to company of their intentions until right at the very end of the leave, IIRC, but perhaps some have already given notice.

Good point...I'm guessing that the tea leaves they are reading in Manning show more not returning than what they were bargaining for since this recall announcement came out of the blue...there's obviously no hard and fast numbers yet but I hope to hear something soon.
