While some have mused that the Judge was less than encouraging with his overall demeanor and style,...
This is quite an admission from the pension committee. Have any of you taken the time to read the transcripts from the trial? Would the statement from the pension committee make anyone a little curious as to why the judge was not encouraging in his style or demeanor?
If you don't want to take the couple of hours to read all of them just read the last day. Feb. 28 pages 62-65. I can't cut and paste so do a little work and download them.
The most enlightening statement from the court was on page 64. This is after 3 years of this case. Hundreds of thousands of documents and three days of testimony at trial. The judge has just stated that “I don’t need more oral argument today…” “So closing arguments won’t help. I have as current a record as anything here.” (Speaking to Mr. Butler)
The Court: "Let’s find out what the pilots can possibly get out of it first, because I don’t see that yet at this point in time."
The judge does not see what the pilots can get out of this trial.
Question? Why did usapa only post the usapa filings and not the PBGC filings? They are available. Yet again usapa only telling one side of the story.
I have read both parties briefings. Honestly the PBGC filings sounded accurate and matter of fact. usapa's sounded whiny and repetitive ignoring the testimony from the trial.
But read all of them for yourself and draw your own conclusion.
It really is sad that you east pilots have spent almost $4 million dollars and did not learn anything you did not know 4 years ago. US Airways went BK and the pension failed. Just like 4000 other pensions that the PBGC has. I hope you all feel better when this is over.
