Thanks Jamie! You made my argument for me. We all know that in 2005 US Air was in Chapter 11 and moving swiftly toward Chapter 7 (this in fact per the investment banker that interviewed @ USAPA last year). So according to your post "the airline industry is expected to report an annual profit in 2006, excluding special items and bankruptcy-related costs, for the first time since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001" (including the venerable America West Airlines!).

May 2005: AWA hiring, growing, getting new airplanes & routes, & upgrading Captains at 6.5 years. Doug Parker...the industry darling.

You CAN read a financial report...can't you?

A few short years later: LAS crew base and most of the flying GONE, PHX downsized to minimum fleet count and pilots on furlough propped up by a 24% shift in flying from the East. You couldn't stand the thought of an East pilot possibly getting a bid into PHX, now you can't wait to get out of the desert and move to the East bases. Amazing huh?

Not to mention those little places Laguardia & Boston! GONE!! 24% of "your" flying? It stopped being your flying in 2005. Get over it Cupcake. If you are that wrapped around the axle over 24%, wait until you see what happens this year. Maybe you should consider a change of "career". SYIC.

Nope. But I can recognize an Airbus 6 out of 5 times! SYIC.

Thanks for proving MY point, Dave!

Oh, and ask the "investment banker" whether he would have advised his investors to invest in AWA as a stand alone. Not only no, but H3LL NO!

Of course we all know investment bankers don't run companies, either.

Yes, SYIC.

You know, it's really not right to call another man, "cupcake." But I guess with Obama's support, it's alright.

The investment banker that I was speaking about interviewed at USAPA to be a resource for USAPA for this merger with AA. This particular IB happened to work for US Air during the US Air bankruptcy. When asked when/how quickly US Air would emerge stand alone from bankruptcy, he chuckled and stated that were it not for America West Holdings and Doug Parker...US Air would have been DONE. One of the DDR's for one of our bases attempted to correct him. He reiterated that US Air was toast without the financial help of AWA Holdings.

I had AWA stock. It was doing OK. The merge made it mo' betta. Final story: US Air was toast. AWA was holding its own. The only statement that you have to the contrary is the cherry picked statement from Parker. Industry "experts" testified during the Nicolau arbitration that AWA was doing quite well in a post 9/11 travel industry.

All that is behind us. The fact remains that the larger pilot group has chosen not to abide by the agreed upon process and final product of that process. We are simply defending our position. We stand firmly on moral, ethical, & legal high ground.

SYIC. It's going to be entertaining to be sure.

You are wrong, they are not stupid.
Pull your head out........whatever the final sli, age thereafter is significant .
This obvious fact has been pointed out many times......are you just slow?

FA
Age. That is your argument now? How much weight did the APA put on age with TWA? Did the APA give the TWA guys a better deal because they were old?

The APA does not want a US Airways pilot senior to them for a day, a week, a year does not matter how old we are.

The APA brings way more attrition to the party than the east.

Once again you are going to be disappointed with the outcome holding on to weak arguments.

Anybody know the reason for the delay of the one 330 due this spring? It is said to be rescheduled for this fall. Any idea of the reason? Thx

HA!!! Look at all the negetive votes!! Man, I don't know what's in the Water out East but it sure as Sh*t isn't reality. Let me guess, that Investment Banker was Senile? Desert something, ignorant, insane....what else?

Sorry, no idea of the reason. But I have seen at least two delivery schedules for the 5 330-200 aircraft we are supposed to get in 2013, each differing a little. I believe these 5 are already financed, so I hope nothing changes, maybe just jockeying for merger issues. By the way, 3 more to come next year.

Just saw the first picture of an assembled AB-350 in my AWST today, what a beauty. I sure hope we still get them with the merger. I was told by a check airman that we allowed AB to sell our "launch customer" slots to another airline, thus the delay until Jan 17. But the kicker is we are getting them for 330 prices, so it would not make sense (if that ever matters) to give them up completely. You read it here, second hand, so it must be true.
