They feel they got dealt a bad hand. You don't whine at the Blackjack table and I think that applies to arbitration as well.

Gaming ediquette:

Do not ask for pity if you have a bad hand, it happens to everyone. Numerous times I have seen a player hit a stiff hand in blackjack and get an additional small card but still be in the 12-16 point range. When this happens some players will often show their cards to the dealer, make a big sigh, and expect some sympathy for having to make another decision. Nobody cares about your hand but you, make a decision quickly and do not hold up the game.

The Nic was more like roulette. Your career on the spin of a wheel.

Bad assumption. Not everyone got hired at thirty.

DOH destroys many west careers from per merger. Nicolau continues the per merger career of east pilots.
17.5 is half of 35. Assumption being half of your career as an f/o and half as a captain. Would you be satisfied with half as an f/o and half as a captain?

Where do you get these "facts"? Pulling them out of your ass doesn't count. Even if they were true it is still very wrong. In my own situation I was looking at 6 years FO, 21 years captain. If you got you way in 2007 I was looking at 22 years FO, 5 years captain.

PS: I wasn't the one working for a bankrupt carrier. I was the one who did not apply at US Airways because I knew they were failing.
Did you know that career expectations can change? I think you are starting to realize that. Cheers!

If you open you eyes you can see that your standalone AWA prospects were not as good as you thought. The AWA story stopped before the great recession, but it's not hard to see how things would have looked.

I can't say your DOH numbers are wrong because I don't know who you are, and I certainly understand why you don't like it anyway, but I have a hard time believing the 22 year right seat. Are those numbers you saw or estimated?

We can't know if we agree wih it if we haven't seen it. Why else would Judge Siver have asked fof it?

Keep trying though. You're digging in sand and it's fun watching.

Oh they are the big cat in the litterbox. Sometimes it can be a liability.

If Nicolau was such a bad arbitrator and he was know for making his decisions by roulette, why did the East want him to determine seniority?

Exactly. The self- centered views espoused by the east certainly is obvious. Typical entitlement mentality.

Pre, do you think the Nic was a good thing for your senior pilots?
The NIC screwed the senior west pilots big time they a lot of them could have been flying big planes for more money, by now fences would be down, we need to make sure they are now fenced off of east metal for at least 5 more years and the APA will take care of the rest as we have no rights to their widebodies, although with the west sense of entitlement I'm sure they think they saved AMR and deserve they widebody flying.

Yes and no. None would have ever seen a wide body aircraft in their career and they never should have the access to the slots. But at the same time how do you take the number one guy and suddenly make him #518? Crazy!!! That's what fences are for
But the bigger issue is on the other side of the list- the 17 year LOS furloughed who lost everything. There really is no solution to dealing with that group and I firmly believe that part of the seniority integration is is impossible to reconcile. There is no right answer. George did the best he could given the tenets of ALPA merger policy. I don't understand (and probably never will) why the east selected him as an arbitrator and then vilified him for doing his job.

Had NIC applied the same logic he did in the Shuttle SLI, the first West pilot would have been over 1000.

Judge Silver could not ask for a LUP. To do so would presume the complaint is ripe for judicial review, which would have gotten her the same rebuke Wake received for meddling. You have the good fortune of merely being a forum poster rather than a judge.

Sorry 9-piece, the days of segregation are over and your fence is up. As soon as a court orders us air to implement the nic you will find two things happen immediately:

1: AOL is going to file liability/damages suit against your fake union and US Air. It will take years, but the West group is SO young, they have time time to see it through. It will be fascinating to see how "neutral" a Jury thinks The Alcoholic Doug Parker has been on this issue. The second immediate thing will be next to Zero East pilots for the foreseeable future either upgrading, or moving up to higher paying equipment in either seat. Your hoarding days are coming to a close and the West pilots are going to flood your seats and your bases.

...and there isn't a damn thing you can do to stop it. Should have voted that MOU down. Seriously? NOBODY out East wondered why this MOU was clearly defined as A CONTRACT FOR THE US AIR PILOTS ONLY?

NOBODY out there ever even asked WHY? This is why. To kill USTUPID and move on. Sure, the MOU says its neutral on seniority, the Law and the TA say otherwise. You got blinded by the money and took the bait. Stevie wonder could have seen this coming. Not you idiots.HA!!!!

One side thinks the MOU validates the nic, the other thinks the opposite. I read the opposite, but time will tell.
