Who cares about what some lawyer (yours, ours, or theirs) has to say in a letter? It's opinion, and slanted at that. He's entitled to his point of view, but it's not the end of anything.

The company attorney expressing the company's position. Significant.

But you guys skip over the fact that the letter came out before the MOU was voted in and the reasons behind the letter. It was sent to the NMB to get them to keep allowing the company to duck negotiations, like the court told them to do.

Ames, I found this on that google thingy:

"Dear Board of Directors Member,

As a US Airways Flight Attendant I am writing to you requesting your support. When the Board of Directors convenes in October they will debate and possibly vote on an Agenda Item submitted by the America West MEC that seeks to change the current date of hire policy regarding seniority integration.
"

Perhaps you should check before you pull "facts" out of you rusty memory, of from wherever you pull them.

The MOU brings us closer to a joint contract. A joint contract triggers implementation of the Nic.

The company's position, clearly stated by Attorney Jones, recognizes the Nic.

They asked and were denied. Didn't go to court. Didn't take a tantrum.

East pilots asked for DOH. They were denied.

East pilots demanded DOH. They were denied.

Arbitrator told east pilots to move off DOH. He was denied.

Arbitrator denies DOH.

East pilots throw six year tantrum.

East pilots soon to be again denied.

Very different to how west FA's behaved.

....but you keep playing with that "google thingy"

East pilots should pay attention. Things aren't really going your way.

Company attorney clearly states company recognizes Nic.

In a APA update the president shuns DOH.

In our new MOU east gets PBS

FA's vote in a contract which ends pilot/FA co-pairings.

Oh, yeah, you east FO's should start teaching your FA's how to sign themselves into a hotel because when they start flying with west pilots there will be no way in hell that our FO's will be doing that for them.

There has never been a requirement for the pilots to sign in the flight atttendants or make "trip sheets" for each member of the crew.

It's done as a simple professional courtesy, if you will. Much like them serving you on the flight deck.

I for one will miss being paired with the F/A's for an entire trip. Over the years I have made many good friends. Not to mention the enhanced crew communication from being on a first name basis with so many co-workers.

The price of progress I suppose.

I think the MOU puts everything back in play and simultaneously places everything at risk regarding the SLI. It is no doubt a re-do, to the chagrin of the west. At the same time it nixes DOH. We could end up with something resembling DOH or a reasonable facsimile of the Nic, or something in between.

The process carries undeniable risk - but I like it.
I agree with you. IMO, we need to look to the current paradigm to find that solution. Not the NIC but not straight DOH either...something that works for everyone and can be defended. There will be lawsuits in any case...that part is inevitable.

"...there will be no way in hell that our FO's will be doing that for them."...? Most impressive!!! Well....THAT will sure 'nuff show them just what macho "spartans" some of "you'se" guys beez! A true class act. You did flunk out on any and all aspects of the "Officer and Gentleman" bit. No matter, I suppose....What else should I have expected from you?
