F/a Recall

I just counted from the seniority list that there are at least 3604 TWA F/A's before
AA F/A's and I am the 4357th after the seniority of 20121.

APFA should have called 612 people instead of 610.Because the last two people
in that class did not get the letter. That is sad.

AA does the recalls, not APFA. In this case President THB was able to get AA to recall more in anticipation of the number expected to leave after the 777 payout. There are 300 or so who would otherwise be waiting in the wings until after the retirements to come back. Sorry about the last 2 in that class. But great for all hose who are coming back earlier now.

1) What is 777 payout ?
2) What does the recall have to do with 777 payout ?
3) You meant there are F/A's expected to leave after the 777 payout ? Why ?

Thank you

I think he is saying there will be aprox enough people for 2 classes after this recall before the step children get the recall notice.

My class graduated on April 5, 2001. Our class is 2001-07. The last class recalled now is 2001-05. So, you have 2001-06, and 2001-07 before TWA fas. We graduated with 60, a couple quit and I think 2 were fired, but how many since the summer furlough have gone on to another carrier etc., we don't know. Many from class 2001-06 went to jetBlue but I get conflicting info as to whether JB requires resignation or not. And I also don't know if JB inflight keeps track of who actually resigned from their respective major carriers.
What my friend who flies out of JFK tells me is that the recall will barely cover the trips, let alone the sick list that will be high for Turkey Day and Christmas. I guess we'll wait and see if there's another recall. Any conjecture as to how many are going to reject the recall?

I've been told the JetBlue people won't be quitting to go back to AA as they are making more money and off reserve at JetBlue.

Laurie Curtis's hotline stated that they are expecting 25% to reject recall. That is why the number was so high this time. They had "calculated" that they needed an additional 300 f/as before taking into account the possible retirements tol follow the 777 payout. So if they were expecting 25% rejection then they actually needed approx. 460 f/as.

I don't think there will be a supplemental recall this time unless there is a mass exodus for the door on 16OCT. And, I don't think there are going to be as many retirements after the 777 payout as some people think. If I'm wrong though, there would still be plenty of time to recall and retrain additional f/as before the Christmas holiday.

May I be so humble as to suggest some of our TWA people might be of assistance. We had over a dozen satellites for years.

Great idea and we should make all the satellites attached to STL.

I am so happy that I am about to burst. At least until TWA is recalled I can hold off reserve. Maybe now my life will begin to stabilize.

I think the TW folks should work on the sattelites. I hope that some will become negotiators in the next contract.

Nancy McGuire our union needs you.

Well I guess Jay N. and Bobby C will be proved wrong about the TWA people. We will be back. Nancy McGuire is one of the best UNION representatives that APFA could have. I hope that THB will include the experience that we have garnered over the past 18 years in work rules via concessions.

WE are less than 100 numbers from having our first TWA f/a recalled. We are not the evil demons, as you will find out. Many of my AA friends are still my dear friends. The SIA lawsuit will come to a conclusion and it will be what it will be.

We will celebrate the first TWA f/a to go back on the line. I hope some of you will join us in that celebration and welcome them. They will not be be back in this recall, but defenitly the next. Progress is being made and I hope every furloughed f/a is recalled.

This is in reply to whomever wrtoe now we won't see TWA'rs as the demons! The people you see on these boards (if any) that complain are the ones who have axes to grind! NOT ONE PERSON whom I have ever spoken to on the line feels any negativity towards TWA'rs.
Once you come back and actually merge with us you will see this. Everyone is excited you may be coming back soon! We need fresh blood! Okay some of your blood may be kind of old  but hey I am flying with someone this month who was hired the year I was born 1961! Keep the faith!
