Emb 170's

Why post something like this in a thread about the EMB170? It has NOTHING to do with the topic. Why be a troll?
I just hate to see the working poor. Allot of people that work for MidAtlantic fall into that classification and I feel for them.

Yeah well, someone has to create profit around here. If you are all the sudden just now figuring that Express people are underpayed and overworked, then I feel sory for you.

Fact of the matter is that if Mid aAtantic works it might be what saves the company as a whole. Youcan make quips about being working poor, but I prefer to work rather than complain myself out of a job and onto the street with the rest of former U employees...

So instead of making them sound bad, why dontcha show some respect instead, and thank them for doing what needs to be done...

Well said Rico.

Some people here haven't been furloughed yet and some are assuming that they won't be. But, you never know when Mid Atlantic is gonna call to offer an alternative to sitting on your couch and staring at the TV all day long.

You would think that since we are all in this together we could at least be treating our fellow coworkers with some respect.

I never said anything about not having respect for any one working there. I find it disgusting that a Mechanic only makes $13.01 an hour and most other positions pay poorly also. You may find some enjoyment out someone's misery like that, but I find it sick and repulsive.

--Do you have a heart?

--There is no need to save a company if everyone working there will be part of the working poor.

So what is it that is keeping these people there working for below living wages?
Seniority and a place on the recall list of an actual major airline, troubled or not.

I purposely booked the E170 on the way to MCO from Albany. Enjoyed it - smooth, quiet, comfortable. I will also say that many passengers were commenting "this is nice" and one young pre-teen kept saying "this is like an entire plane full of first class seats."

Only a pre-teen would miss that difference.

Actually, its pretty close to what US currently calls First Class.

Leather seats, two-by-two (plus a moveable headrest, thats an addition).

Legroom- in every seat.

Closet for your coat.

Give the person thier wine-in-a-plastic-cup for free and whip out the snack basket and thats domestic, narrowbody, short haul, First Class.

That solves U's problem. Everyone rides in First!

I know it's been said before, but ... why oh why do the marketing geniuses decide to brand it as US Airways Express??? Almost sounds like you could give it a premium branding like Shuttle (or at least like Shuttle used to be).

$27,060.80 for an aircraft Mechanic is disgusting and the thought of you wanting to compare that to fast food. I said the aircraft itself is very nice. I also said the wage being paid these people makes me ill. I think you get off on people suffering. All those wages buy someone is misery. People and their kids are barely eating and having the basics and you appear (and others) to enjoy in their misery. May God have mercy on your soul! All you want is a cheap ticket. I can understand that, but here is no need to enjoy what is happening here. No wonder you are all alone.

These folks have to buy their own tools, pay union dues (I don't know why. It appears they did nothing for them) and also a high fee for health insurance which they can get after six months. Not much left over for food and clothes for the little ones. If this is what it takes to make a profit then they should not be in business.
