Democracy In Action

FAA authorization bill being held up by house republicons and aviation industry.
Seems they don't like the normal vote counting system, they want to go back to
counting people that don't vote as NO votes ! These people have no shame !

Hmmm, the NMB, which most mechanics despise due to their obvious bias in favor of corporations reverses 75 years of "normal" voting precedent, and your suddenly on their side? I have to question their motives as simply a ploy to gain our favor. I have mixed feelings about the issue and concede both arguments have merit. Considering it would have only changed 2 out of 16 elections in the last year, I don't see it as a reason to quit voting for conservatives.

Keith,

Why should I retract my post about JR's support for you as Local 565 President? Did I slander anyone? No, I did not.

I do not believe one local's elected officials, let alone the international, should meddle in another local's elections. This was done when Bob Owens ran for president but I do not remember seeing you asking for retractions from the presidents that stumped for Iiluiano (sorry for the spelling.).

I support JR 100% because he is a good man, a good friend and a good President that fights for his membership. I disagree with his formal letter and that is all. A disagreement. JR knows how I feel and where I stand. No retraction necessary.

Now, how about you asking JR to formally retract his letter of support for you until he becomes familiar with the remaining two candidates running for President?

Ken
I will retract the request for a retraction (thats a mouthfiull) from you. You may still disagree but I think you take my point.
One day I will try to introduce JR to Kenya and John T. Lets move on.

I just had an epiphany while eating a bowl of Blue Bell MooLennium Crunch!
Overspeed/aka Mr. Dickweed, is being paid to post by the twu international, to sell the upcoming TA that is going to be ram-rodded in August, so the company can buy their planes and settle with the pilots and flight attendents.

Where's my check?

A TA is coming? Really? I more expect to be on ice by November at the current pace.

We have had some winners! Phat Don and now Good-time Bob. Intl aspirated "I got mine" con-artists. I wish Shiable would have ran for the #1. He seems to have integrity and none of the elitist attitude.

I'll ditto that. One who can't be impressed or intimidated by the suits has my vote.

Ken,
JR is a good man and his letter was very genuine. Not an extremist view point like many others on this BB.

Yep, it's been a roller coster ride with these twu contracts and I was asking you what the solution is. My solution would be, replace our current outdated, industrial, catch all, non-democratic, non-respected by the company and peers, unaccountable, money wasteing, AFLCIO affiliated, company suck ass union. And I would like to replace it with a respectable, skilled, craft union, of just AA mechanics and related.

I wasn't name calling.....You have earned my respect Mr. Dickweed

Thank you.

Do you deny you interviewed for management positions? You have and they didn't want you. Didn't you interview for the same job as Rusty Prewitt? Yes, and he got the job. How many others Gary?

Gary, just posting under your own name doesn't diminish the fact you're aspirations are whatever suits your pocket book. If elected I expect you will disappear again until the next big thing comes along.

You turn on Little, Gless, and Videtich only because you know that is break room rhetoric that will get you elected...you hope. The membership doesn't need your IGM BS. Once elected you will buddy up with any faction that will benefit you. You were totally onboard with working with consultants when it got you something. Didn't you let them in to AFW and offer up exec board members and mechanics to assist? You said it was what was going to get us more a contract time. You played both ends though didn't you? Tried to make connections in Finance but that didn't play out the way you planned. Guess it's time to try to run for President again and try to make some new connections huh?

DFW members will not be well served by you. You bash Keith for getting DFW opened and more jobs for us. What did you do at AFW? Did you add several hundred jobs during your time in office? That would be a big no!

You bash Gary for interviewing for a management position that he did not get. What would you say to a person that did go into management and came back to the union and became an Int president for the twu? I'll give you a hint his name is jim little. The only reason you back ks is because the int wants him in. You call people cowards here, thats like the pot calling the kettle black if you don't call jim and give him the same treatment that you have been giving Gary. You won't do that will you? Then you top being a coward by being a hipocrite also. If things were bad with Will He Bob Zimmerman (THE ANSWER IS YES) they will be just as bad if not worse with ks. He is Phatt Dons suck boy. Why don't you ask him about breaking up a fellow mechanics marriage due to him not being able to keep his pants zipped. Maybe you can ask him about a local 565 Sexatary that had to make a hasty exit due to a small weight gain over 9 months. I guess he hasn't been happily married for 27 years after all. Oh by the way I asked you before what local do you belonged to? I guess you forgot to answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW... REALLY something goes our way for once, and ur ready to let the scumbags take it away.
With that kind of thinking UNIONS are DOOMED !!!

Minus the name calling, this is a great statement. Straight and to the point with no BS.....in order to be respectable there should be something in the constitution to enforce professionalism amongst the union members for job performance. A Steward should be a model employee that is respected amongst his peers and when he tells a union member to straighten up his act, that member should straighten up and if he doesn't, then that member gets disciplined by the union, I suggest a 7 union member panel to watch out for personal vendettas. That is how a union Gaines respect, along with good contracts.

All the Int'l bashers are cowards. Did you write this while you were kicking back in the rainbow room? Why not stop skulking around in the internet cafes at the terminal cyber bullying your Int'l reps and call them out on the floor. Because your puffed out chest caves in at the very thought if having to actually grow a pair. I have, I don't agree with a lot of things that happen in this union and others I have been in. Sometimes I am unhappy with the answers but I still challenge the status quo. IAM, IBT, and UAW all have their issues. Instead of stepping up you whine and cry.

Yep Gary tried to get in to management. I thank you for telling the truth I am sure Gary appreciates you coming to his side.

Deal cutting has got to go. Stewards need to police the contract. TWU needs a strong steward body that knows the contract and stops the Company from undermining it. CCs need to take back their crews and management needs to go back in the production offices. Union members should not be calling in to HR about their union brothers and sisters. No deals anymore and stop undercutting seniority with bizarre CS swaps creating special shifts and days off. What a bunch of crap when a junior guy takes days off through CS with themselves and you go to your steward and he says, "The CS policy is not contractual, they can do that." That's not the TWU, that's its members and they will do that deal cutting crap no matter what union they belong to.

Union members need to get the act together!
